Hi there, I'm new to these boards so bear with me if I am asking daft questions!

We are thinking of going to Disneyland Paris at the beginning of December for 4 or 5 days - we need a short break with our 6 month old son and haven't got round to booking anything yet. We figure maybe this would be a good option as we can go by Eurostar (so not bother with taking a car seat, no long flight etc). We were originally going to go to Florida - we are frequent long haul travellers (well until 6 months ago!) and don't feel as if we've had a holiday unless it's far away but it seems a bit of a hassle now! . I know availability will be a factor (the Disneyland Hotel is booked up) but I am so confused as to which hotel to go for - I have trawled review sites and as usual there are very good and very bad reviews for all of them. Can anyone recommend the hotels that would be a good option for us with a baby? We know he won't take a lot of notice of Disney really but he loves anything with a face and it will be all Christmassy and we assume the restaurants will be child friendly. We'd like a couple of day trips into Paris too. We'd like a decent pool as he's started swimming, some nice places to walk about (I doubt we would go into Disneyland itself for more than one day), baby friendly restaurants, possibly pampering facilities for me (it's been a long time!) and preferably be close enough to walk to the Disney Village.

Also, do they provide cots or would I need to take a travel cot. Also what about a sterliser? Any advice from anyone who has travelled there with a baby would be most welcome!

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Carrie

If you are only planning one day in Disney, I'd recommend staying in Paris itself and maybe day tripping to Disney and buying tickets there. Your hotel package includes passes for Disney for the whole of your stay which seems a bit of a waste if you aren't going to use them? Much as I love Disney the realist in me says that "at least a couple of day trips to Paris" and "one day in Disney" spells out very loudly "stay in Paris"

The Sequoia Lodge is nice in Winter, and it has a pool, although all the reports I have heard about Disney pools are that they are very cold, I wouldn't be wanting to take a 6 month old baby into one in the middle of Winter!!

If you do decide to go to a Disney hotel then yes they do provide cots, no microwave or bottle heating in the room unless you hire a kettle, but no jug. All the restaurants are very baby friendly, there are food and bottle heating facilities (microwaves) in all the counter service restaurants we went to. There is a big baby changing and feeding place at the top end of Main street and all the loos have changing facilities.

I'd think of staying of the Marriot which has a pool and mummy pampering facilities. You can get a free bus/taxi to Disney and you have a little home from home to stay in.Depending on time you may be able to take advantage of the new cheap annual pass.

Hi Carriegriff and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

As you have looked at Disneyland Hotel you may prefer Hotel New York or Sequoia Lodge which both have a pool and are nice and close if you want a break back from the park with a little one :goodvibes

Thanks for your help, we have booked our trip! :cool1:

The Marriott looked ideal but they didn't have an rooms so we had a rethink and decided to drive (via Eurotunnel) and stay at Davey Crockett Ranch in a 2 bed cabin (so ds can have his own room), then we can cook his food etc easily, eat breakfast in our room, have takeaway from the resort restaurant etc and of course we can pile the car with things for the trip and pile it with shopping when we go home :thumbsup2 . We can also drive about for day trips etc. It seemed to tick all our boxes apart from the pool as unfortunately it's closed during the week we are there. But I'm sure we can live with that - as pointed out, it will probably be too cold for my baby anyway! Just in case, can you use other hotel pools at all? Any tips for staying there?

Thanks again, I am sooo excited now! :Pinkbounc

shame about the Marriot but the same principle of having a home from home applies to the davy Crockett. I hope you have a wonderful time. :goodvibes

I don't think you can use the other pools though

If you want to go to paris by train you can park at Disney free parking is included for ranch guests or catch the train from the large Val de europe shopping centre just down the road. Val de europe has a huge Auchan supermarket ideal to stock up with wine to take home & food of course!. Saves having to stop in Calais.
