Advice needed on transferring points

Hi

A friend of mine has just gifted me his DVC points as he no longer needs them. Can anyody advise me how to go about changing the name and if Disney allow this.

DVC is a deeded right-to-use interest in a specific resort. Your ownership interest is represented by an annual allotment of points. Disney has a ROFR (Right Of First Refusal) on all contracts to transfer ownership. Gifts among family members probably gets an automatic waiver. Don't know how Disney would react to a gift between friends. You might want to check with a closing comany such as Timeshare Closing Services, Inc. who does a lot of DVC closings for the resale market. They can handle all of the paperwork.
