So we are going to WDW in early January and wanted to book an Ohanas dinner so we could view the fireworks. But I'm not exactly sure what time I should make the reservations for so we might have a better chance of a window seat. The fireworks are at 8 that night and the date I was eyeing is a Friday. Main concerns are if we don't go slow enough and book too early they going to try to push us out before the show. Thanks in advance.

If you plan on viewing WIshes from 'Ohana you will most likely be disappointed. There are only a few tale that are by the wondows so you may not be able to see. This is not the kind of restaurant that allows guests to gather around the window area to see the show.

Are you going to 'Ohana to see Wishes while dining, or do you want to see it from the beach before or after dinner? THe staff will not rush you either way, but if your plan is to find someplace to enjoy the show maybe we can come up with suggestions.

When we went in January 2011, we had an ADR at 6:30 when the fireworks were at 8 and we were just finishing up dessert when Wishes began.

I have to disagree with the PP! We loved being inside 'Ohana's for the fireworks. We weren't by a window, but we could see it from our table, and they dimmed the lights and played the soundtrack, it was a very special feeling! No it's not the best view of the fireworks, but it was still pretty amazing!

WE have been fortunate that on two evenings we were inside near a window and had a lovely view. We have also been seated at tables that were no where near the window and had absolutely no view at all. To be clear, we have never even asked for a window seat because we honestly do not care if we see Wishes from 'Ohana, however if the OP is invested in viewing the show, she should know that that this restaurant is not set up to include the show. Narcoossees? Yes. CG? Yes. If you are in there, you are good. You can step outdoors if you have no view, but that is not possible at 'Ohana.

I agree that 'Ohana is a nice place to be dining during Wishes, and we generally are still there during the "show", but I have seen too many upset people who thought that because it was a monorail restaurant they would have "front Row" seats so I caution them ahead of time.

No worries, it is important to know that not all tables have a view of the window. But I didn't want to the OP to be disappointed either and think it was a horrible idea because it's not (especially since she said she wanted a window seat).
There's no harm asking for a window seat or a seat with a window view! Good Luck OP!

Last fall we had an 8:00 ADR on a 9:00 Wishes night. We didn't plan in anyway to be in the restaurant when the fireworks started, but it was a nice surprise. We were not at a window seat, but were still able to see pretty well. They dim the lights and play the music. We had finished eating and were getting ready to leave when it started. Our server told us to not hurry and stay for the show, so I don't think they will try and push you out.
