OK, so we have this trip planned in August. It is our 10th anniversary and also the 10th anniversary of the couple going with us. No kids.

My dh just told me he invited our former pastor and his wife to join us for the trip. Very nice surprise, they moved several years ago and we miss them terribly.

(We are having dinner at V&A chef's table for the anniversary dinner.)

The pastor has offered to do a renewal of vows for us. I would love some suggestions on when/where/how to do an impromptu vow renewal.

Any ideas?

(We are staying at SSR, 2 bdr. for us and our friends, additional studio for the pastor and his wife.)

You might want to post this on the wedding forum, as there was a post there recently about this issue. They were saying you can't have a ceremony anywhere in the public areas unless it is an official Disney wedding or vow renewal booked thru Disney. If they see a private non-Disney ceremony going on in the public areas, they will put a stop to it.

Hi Sprite, Yup, Disney is proud of their Fairy Tale Weddings Department (which handles Vow Renewals).

Doing it without FTW is possible, but not recomened. The easiest solution is to use your room. Disney shouldn't stop you in a private room, unless you are hanging off the balcony in a wedding dress... But it isn't the same as an outdoor ceremony (say in the gazeebo on the boardwalk). Peoplewise, There shouldn't be a problem doing the ceremony in your 2BR room, there is plenty of room in the living area for a ceremony (6 people). You will even have the kitchen available...

If you want to have the full magic (and the Disney Blessing), Call Fairy Tale Weddings and ask them for options. They have certain minimums, but you might find it reasonable to do a small custom vow renewal. You might even be able to arrange it at V&A on your anniversary. If you need the number I will be more than happy to PM it to you...

:figment:

PS, just an FYI, this is a very passionate subject on this (the Wedding) board. Many have spent small (and large) fortunes on Disney Weddings and Vow Renewals.

Check out www.disneyweddings.com for info on Disney Vow Renewals. Disney can arrange everything, all you have to do is show up with someone to administer the ceremony.. :)
