DH and I went for the first time to our seasonal campsite. Lots of relaxation...until THE ANNOYING NEIGHBOR appeared out of nowhere. We saw NO ONE until he popped into the site on Sat. to say howdy and welcome and started inviting us over and telling us how he and his wife are raising their grandkids and he must have said "I hope you like Kids" at least 3 times. DH and I were silent. We don't DISLIKE kids, but we have chosen to not have any and we are going to this place to "Get away from it all"...we specifically chose this place for it's secluded, quiet environment. There are NO activities, pool, bingo, bonfires, etc. I wanted to say "What does it matter? They aren't coming over here." Honestly, I'm more worried about HIM being a nuisance. First thing we will tell them is that our dog does not like children.
We work hard all week and DH's father is seriously ill. The last thing we want is to feel like we HAVE to socialize with these people...it's not a good feeling. I hate being rude, but I will just have to explain that we are there for privacy and relaxation. He even said "There's a site next to me that's empty...why not take that one?" I kept reiterating that we chose this spot for the peace & quiet and privacy.
