Advice needed - MK early rope drop via GF walkway from Poly?

We check in to Poly today!!! So excited - it’s our first stay there! Our first park day is tomorrow and we will be braving the MK crowds. Would our best option to get in when they first open before rope drop be to walk from Poly via the new GF walkway? If so, does anyone know how long it takes to get to MK from Poly DVC area and what time we should plan to leave in the morning? Or will we be able to get in just as early by taking the monorail from TTC?

Is about 1.75 miles from the DVC villas at Poly to MK. So 30-40 minutes depending on your walking speed. The new bridge over the causeway is gated and may be closed until around the time other transportation options open - about 45 minutes prior to park opening. You could well get to MK via monorail/ferry sooner than walking if that's the case.

Personally, the last thing I'd want to do is add an extra 2 miles of walking to my day, just to be one of the first people in the park. I'll just walk 5 minutes to the TTC and catch the monorail or ferry.

I've read the resort boat is now also open at Poly. Anybody have experience taking that for MK rope drop instead of the monorail/ferry at TTC?

I didn’t realize it was that far and you are right, I have read since I posted that the gate is locked until then. I also found out that the bus runs to Contemporary starting at 7am so I think we will take that and walk over.

From the TTC, you can take the express monorail and skip the GF and Contemporary.
