Advice Needed here

I'm not sure about the exact name, but I have some kind of Maiden grass on the left side of my house, about 3 years now. Yesterday it got weed wacked down to the ground.
My grass cutter of 10 years had a new inexperienced helper with him. ( I talked to him last night) Does anyone know how this will affect it this year? Will I get the growth back??
I can't believe he did this.

It'll grow back...may be a little skimpy this year but since it's established, it should be fine.

A male with a weed-wacker in his hands means danger to ornamental grasses.

It's still early enough in the season,it should come back. Fertilize it with bone meal and keep it watered. My DH cut one of mine down with the mower a few years ago. Mine did not make it.
