Advice needed for upcoming trip

i have a few questions about our upcoming trip. 12/2-12/6.

1.) What is the current advice for being able to ride and/or obtain FPs for Soarin', RSR, TSMM, and ToT?

2.) We have 5 days planned with PHs. My plans are still a mess. As of right now, Friday 12/2 is DL, Saturday 12/3 is for sure a starting DCA day. I have aladdins oasis dinner for PtN early time tickets for 12/2. Ariels lunch 12/3. Wine country trattoria lunch for woc 12/5. Should we start at dca on Sunday because it's MM at DL? Then we're not fighting any early crowds already in the park? I'm worried if we push an early DCA day back to Tuesday, we'll miss out on rsr. (12/3 is just us girls, DH and DS are going to magic mountain that day).

3.) any advice on bippity boppity boutique vs Elsa and Anna's salon in DTD? Are those the only 2 options for little girl dress up things?

OK, TSMM is not issuing FP's yet . I would start with the RSR first thing, then ToT (since it is closing down), and then Soarin'. The "late arrival" ToT (after dark) is not on the FP's.

I hope you know that Saturday and Sunday is the Disneyland Candlelight Processional, which creates havoc on Main Street and the Parades, so you will need to work around it. Paint the Night is the very Popular evening parade, and since Friday is not blocked out for any AP, expect large crowds that night, but you do have the reserved seating, but I still would want to get there early.. On Saturday and Sunday, there is only 1 offering at 10:45 PM if you want to see it again.

I would think about using the Disneyland Monorail to enter/exit Disneyland on the weekend due to Candlelight.

Do you think going to DL first thing Sunday would be ok? Then just leaving to head over to DCA around noon?

I'm debating switching our WOC lunch to Sunday, if we're already going to be over in DCA. Then Monday could be more of a DL centered day.

The "locals" will be in line at park opening (actually before, some for hours) to grab the best available spaces to watch Candlelight Saturday and Sunday, and yes, that is what they do all day waiting for the evening performance. So the Disneyland entrance will have long lines at opening. So I would have a plan B and maybe wait an hour after opening before entering Disneyland.

Myself, I am also headed to SFMM and "Holidays in the Park" and USH Grinchmas, Saturday is USH, and then have a special event before opening Sunday AM (SFMM will open up a few Roller Coasters for a very few invited guests) Staying in Valencia Saturday and Sunday night..... So have fun in my home town

I read on another board that it is a good idea to book Carnation Cafe during the Candlelight event because you can potentially hear the whole thing while you have dinner. I booked a reservation in case we decide to go that route, but wondering if anyone who has listened to it thinks it is worth doing. I do hate crowds and was planning on avoiding DL that night. We have the Tea party booked at DLH earlier in the day and I was thinking of either going to DCA or just hanging at Trader Sam's, but we could take the monorail into DL and then walk over to Carnation Cafe. Not sure what the question is, other than is it worth it to listen from the Cafe?

Another question is would the rest of DL be less busy during Candlelight? If so, we'd probably just want to do that and eat at Rancho or French Market.

I like your plan. You will be OK to catch RSR on Monday or Tuesday. I still think that regardless of where MM is you are better off going to DL in the morning. It fills up so much after 5. Especially on week days. Its supposed to be pretty cold while you are there (to us folks who live in the general area), so I think you might be pleasantly surprised by the crowds. At least I hope you are, because we are there the first and second!

We did this last year for the first Saturday show, not necessarily to hear the show but to be in a good spot to jump in line for the second show. This was our first time not trying for seats (we've always gotten leftover seats) but by getting in line immediately when the last song started we got a decent view. During Candlelight the Cafe will not accept requests to sit outside. You get whichever table is available first. They were very clear and firm about this. Obviously everyone has the idea to sit outside and listen to it. We were sat inside, and could just barely hear the music and none of the narration. I almost mistook Joy to the World for Hallelujah and left early lol. So, you are definitely taking a gamble on what you'll hear there. Honestly, its Christmas time and a weekend and the park is full of people who aren't watching Candlelight. Its not quiet in the rest of the park.

Oh shoot. Hmm. Well they're both opening at 8 (mm for DCA). But if the lines are already long at DL at 8am, it'll kinda suck either way.

I still haven't made up my mind on what we're going to do. I figure we still have time.
