I am booking at the end of the week for a 5 day stay in Newport bay. I have stayed here before with work for a work's convention and found the hotel more than adequate. When I am booking the package is there anything else that i need to book ??? I have read various threads with regards to meals and having to book them but am a bit unsure when i need to do this. is there anything else that i need to consider when placing the booking. I am taking 8 year old and 1 year old. Do I have book the cot before I get there or can i do this when i get there and also what is the best plan for a buggy. Should i take my own ???

Hi, I'd suggest booking the cot before you get there to make sure you are allocated one.
We have always used the strollers from the park for the troops when they were a bit older, but as they do not recline you would be better with your own for 1 year old.

There is no real need to book meals before you go :)

If you want to go to see Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, the price are lower if you book them before being at DLRP and it is easier and you are sure to have your seats

hi

we found it easier to book meals once checked in - also planning your day to hit the rsturants for an early dinner (especially with younger ones) worked very well 4-4:30 which meant we were coming out everyone else is queuing to go in and the rides queues are somewhat shorter

take your own buggy (with rain cover) - the ones on hire don't recline and don't have a cover - it rained on 2 days we were there last week and they were a lot of wet seats waiting for people to return from rides

also nbp is dreadful for getting between park access and reception - one lift takes 4 people or 2 buggies and 2 people. We found it quicker to make 2 trips up to 21 steps rather than wait in line with all the able bodied people who were too lazy to walk up them

didn't bother with a cot - our little one shared the double bed

The Newport is lovely! You should book the cot in advance and take your own stroller for the baby. It might also be worth asking for a lower floor although they never guarantee you'll get it. The lifts are very slow!

We never book meals in advance. You can book them at the hotels' concierge or at the restaurant concerned.

If you can afford it, it would be worth booking a character breakfast or dinner, so your 8 year old can get close to the characters.
