We are trying to book a BWV for Dec. 27 - Jan 6. Have been watching each day book up quickly the morning of the 11-month window, so went on at 8:00 a.m. this morning to try to get a reservation Dec. 25-31 and then walk it for 2 days. I kept getting a "site down for maintenance" message until about 8:10 a.m., then it worked but all the villas in the category I want were booked for Dec. 25.

I waitlisted as far as I could (Dec. 25 - 31). Dec. 26-31 are available, but the system won't let you confirm the following nights if you don't have the first night confirmed.

Here's my question: Do I cancel the waitlist in the morning and try again at 8:00 a.m. to get what I want Dec. 26 - Jan 1? Or, do I have a better shot at getting the reservation if I keep the waitlist? Which has priority... people logging in at 8:00 a.m. to reserve at 11-months out or a waitlist? Or, will the waitlist not come through until all days are available, meaning Dec. 25 would have to open up before they would confirm Dec. 26-31?

For a wait list to match all the days must be available. I would try again at 8am tomorrow to book the 26th for 7 days. You cancel your initial wait list after attempting to book.

I so glad it has worked out for you. My family and I love traveling to WDW during the holidays. Our favorite resort is the BW.

What rooms at bwv are hardest to book?

We want to go 1/1-1/7 and need 3 2br any view. I'm thinking about renting from David s.

I've been experiencing the same thing and had a bit of a panic attack when on the 20th, the 22nd was booked (and still is) and then on the 24th, both the 24th and 25th filled up by 9:30, making it 11m+1 out unavailable. I really didn't want to walk my reservation but those 2 factors really made me feel like I had to try, if I even could get it started. I did the same as you, with a couple of waitlists last night, checked to see that neither had been filled prior to 8am and cancelled one of them.

At 8am, I was relieved to see the 26th showing available and I secured what I could this morning and will have to do a few days of walking to get it where I need. I then cancelled the 2nd waitlist. A pain that I'd much rather not go through but the stress of potentially getting to my desired start date of the 29th and having it gone was getting to me and given how early the 22nd went I think that the Sunday before the holiday is a target arrival for a lot of folks.

Interestingly enough, as of about 10 minutes ago the entire week starting the 24th looks open except for standard view but I don't expect that to last long. Things are definitely moving around that's for sure!

My understanding on the waitlists is that they are filled on a batch run and no one knows exactly what time. I did see someone have one filled the same day for a hard to secure room (AKV Value) so figured it couldn't hurt to have it in the system and wouldn't conflict with my ability to book if something was available.

Standard view and preferred boardwalk view can book full fairly quickly. Preferred pool/garden view (more than 60% of all rooms) is much easier. BWV owners can reserve the time you want beginning Feb 1 and thus you should be getting in touch with David's now to get the process started if you really want three 2BRs at BWV for those dates.

So doing the math that would mean there is something like 30 or less 2b's in the boardwalk or standard view categories, each and maybe 90 in the pool/garden.

Go here and explore http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2931467 The 2BRs are designated in green as 1L and SL (1BR and studio in a lock-off arrangement) Standards are the Driveway and Tennis court rooms. There are 22 boardwalk 2BRs , 37 standard 2BRs, and 90 preferred pool/garden, but they can all also be 1BR and studio.

Wow, even less than I realized! That makes me feel better about walking my reservation.

^They are impressive and they were created by one of our DiSboard members, Shamus, to whom all credit goes.
