Hey everyone,

We're planning a trip for late September 2006, with 8 adults and 3 kids - the kids will be 5, 2 and 1. We are thinking about staying in either POP or POR - but can't decide which. I have stayed at both and enjoyed them both, we would prefer to stay at POR but what is there for kids to do?

Also it's important for us that we stay somewhere with a good bus service - we stayed at POP last year and it was fantastic. What are the buses like at POR? How many bus stops are there and what are the frequency of the buses?

Thanks in advance!

I do not remember how many stops POR has. We always got on at the main stop by the main building. When going out we sometimes went directly to the paprk and sometimes we made a couple of stops. Coming back we usually stoped at POFQ then our stop next. There is a main pool (Old Man Island) that the kids love and plenty of smaller, quieter pools there as well. We have three kids 9,8 & 7 and they loved it there. Good Luck!

There are 4 bus stops at POR. If there's a rhyme or reason to the bus route, I could never figure it out. We caught the bus at the South Depot, which is the one in front of the main building, and sometimes we would stop at one or two or three of the other stops, and sometimes none at all.

It is true that the bus usually comes from POFQ first, and drops off there first as well.

I think I would lean towards POFQ for you because bus service is a main issue for you. The FQ does get picked up first and dropped off first. Makes the ride nice and short. The pool would be great for your little ones. Playground is small, but nice. The theme is great. Food court yummy. We were torn between the POR and FQ, but our kids are just a bit older, so we chose POR. I really considered FQ due to the bus service. POR bus service is not bad, but it can get crowded fast. Standing is not fun with kids.

I also prefer POR, but my kids are older and you can't put 5 in a rm at POFQ. They liked the pools at POR and the boat ride to DTD. You can also use the pool at POFQ, which seems to be more themed for the preschool set. We liked the food court at POR better also, but my mother did miss the beigettes at POFQ.

We have not yet been to POP, and after our recent stay at POR we may never try it because we love this resort!!

We did not have any issues with the buses. There are 4 stops there and we always picked up from the South Depot (by the main building) It seemed to depend on which park you are going to or coming from as to the pattern for which stop was first. When we were there the last week of October, POR and POFQ had their own buses to and from the Magic Kingdom. We almost always got a seat (or someone would give one up for me or DH if we were holding DS2).

My son really liked the pool- there is a slide, waterfalls etc. The food court was decent (we only ate their for lunch a couple of times) but we really liked Boatwrights for breakfast- large portions and reasonably priced by Disney standards (The Mickey pancake on the kids menu is HUGE!). You can also rent surrey bikes there, there are horse drawn carriage rides in the evenings, we enjoyed taking the boat to DTD at night to Ghiradelli's for ice cream and they rent boats from the Marina (we did that one afternoon and my son had a ball!!!) I could go on and on about this resort.........
