I am taking my 78 year old mother to WDW this weekend. I have rented a scooter in lieu of using her walker. I need advice on where to watch the MVMCP parade and fireworks. Is there one good place for both? How far in advance should we get there? I don't want my mom navigating around huge crowds on the scooter so I am fine with us squatting for a long period of time.
TIA!

There are areas roped off for people with disabilities. You will be able to stand with her. Ask a cast member in advance of the parade or fireworks.

You will still need to arrive early. My dd just got back yesterday. She went to the roped off area near the castle a full hour early and was told it was full (she said it didn't look full).
