We are taking our first family trip in Dec. :yay: I know we will be back, but this is probably the only time we will go and my children will still "believe" the Princess are real, that Tom Sawyer lived on the island, that Tinker Bell really flies around the castle, ect.

What is the one moment, activity or memory you have that "can't be missed"?

Thanks for all the advice.

I'm tellin ya...when you round that corner of Main Street and see the castle in front of you... :cloud9:
I get goosebumps thinking about it!!

Pictures with Mickey....
Its a Small World
Walk in the castle

and...let things slide a little... this is the happiest place on earth.....step up the patience...but a little more tolerable and allow kids to be kids :)
I try to do that...

I have two girls, and the "can't miss" moment was when they got their picture taken with a princess (Aurora). At the time, the girls were 3.5 and 7.5. As my girls were posing with the princess holding her hands, their faces were just giddy smiles. Priceless photo.

Other than that, I think other "can't miss" moments are those rides in Magic Kingdom that truly overwhelm their visual senses. "It's a Small World" for example just left them mesmerized.

I agree with the previous poster that you do have to be sure to "chill out" a bit as a parent. Remember that some things that you think will be "fun" may not be fun for them depending on their age (such as the Hall of Presidents).

Have fun!

For us it has to be the fireworks at the castle, the lightshow is beautiful and the music is perfect. :cloud9:

Since you're going in December, YOU MUST go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

Seriously.....book it now. Dates do sell out. :thumbsup2

Also, try to book a few character breakfasts or dinners (at this late time Cinderella Royal Table will probably be booked up but that is a must if you can get it, so try. 1-407-WDW-DINE).

If you cant get CRT, try Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends).

MK has to be the first day of the trip, and Spectromagic is THE parade you must see at night.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

An absolute must for us is the opening ceremony or "rope drop" at Magic Kingdom. We are taking our kids for the first time next month and that is the first thing I want them to see. Talk about goosebumps. I really think it illustrates all what Disney is about. Once you see it, you'll never forget it! Just make sure to get there by 8:30. The show starts right at 9! Have a great trip!

PS- I do have two other Christmas must sees that I would recommend also. The candle light processional in Epcot is absolutely the best Christmas show I've ever see. I am the kind of person that listens to Christmas music all year round. This show really gets you in the Christmas spirit. Also, the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing lights at DHS is amazing. If you can swing it, get there before they "flip the switch" so you can see all the lights come on. It's truly breath taking. They also make it snow which is really cool for a southern girl like me who's only seen snow about 8 times in my entire life!
