We will be going in May 16-26, saying off site from the 19-26. Was considering staying onsite from the 16-19. Here is the catch-we have five children, so require two rooms. Two of the children are Disney adults, and the other three are our 'littles'. I know there are some options for buying dining for one room and not the other, or different dining plans to optimize credits. So wondering, what would you do? I know that we will not get coveted reservations now, that is fine, and we would get something-we go every year, and are not commandos. On-site we have stayed at AoA, All Stars and GF before (how's that for a range), and we generally stay at a 2 bedroom timeshare (which is what we will do for the rest of the week).

As long as Disney doesn't change anything and begin enforcing the "kid's must order from a kid's menu," your cheapest best would be to put one adult and the 3 littles in one room and buy the DxDDP for that room only. That would give you 36 meals to use for all 7 of you for the 16-19th. Total cost for that would be right at $710, so about $100 per person for 3 days worth of food.
