A co-worker of mine is going to WDW the week before Easter with her 6 & 7 year old boy and girl. Her husband wants nothing to do with it....won't wait in line even 10 mins. :( Anyway, what are some helpful hints I can pass on to her for making her days at the parks and water parks go well? I especially want to know what to tell her about EPCOT....what will kids that age enjoy there? Thanks!

PS-They are staying at AS-Sports and will be on the dining plan...planning to do a lot of character meals.

they are going at the busy time and he only wants to wait 10 minutes....

well you can hope he changes his mind.

be sure to tell them about fast passes - but remember on busy days (which they are going on) fast passes run out early like before 10 am....

so tell them to get their early....as early as possible - get a fast pass or two - it will tell you when you can get another one... ride at least one thing and leave come back when their fast passes are to be used...

also tell him to remember that 20 minutes wait is generally the lowest Disney uses these days - it generally isn't 20 minutes - but it can be....

if he doesn't want to wait why are they going during high peak season????

Epcot has changed - the boys will appreciate Test Track and Mission:space - they may even enjoy Soarin' - but talk about long waits that ride can easily be 2 hours....

he would be better off in Sept or Jan...

If the husband does not like to wait in lines then maybe they should choose a different time of year, or a different vacation during this time frame. There is nothing worse than having an unhappy parent doing the busy season in Disney.

Is her husband even going with them?

Tell her to get to the parks early. Tell her to look at the resort map in the room or on the bus BEFORE getting to the park, so she knows where to head. She isnt going to want to waste time in the am or walk all over unnecessarily and tire the kids out.

Tell her to take a break at some point. With kids that age, their little legs will get tired.

HTH

one more thing, tell her to keep the kids on basically the same schedule as at home. Wake up, bedtime, etc. Of course sleep in a bit, but dont wake them up 2 hrs earlier and then keep them up late. They will be tired enough!

Tell her to leave her DH in the room! She can easily handle 6 & 7 year olds on her own (I'm sure she does at home!).

She MUST be at the park before it opens. See a few favorite rides in the first hour or 2.

My kids really LOVE Epcot-Soarin and Test Track are two of their very favorite rides. They also really enjoyed making the free masks in the world showcase. Her kids may enjoy doing a passport (I think $10). Looks like a real passport and you get it stamped in each country and the CM at each country write something in their native language. Also in one of the innoventions (not sure if east or west) you can make free plastic robots.

She can still have a great trip but DH sounds like he could be a problem.
