My wife any I are taking a quick long weekend trip, first weekend in February and I'm looking for advice on which Resort to choose. Actually have Beach Club booked but considering a change to a Magic Kingdom area resort, only because I've never stayed in one before. The ease of Beach Club is hard to beat though!!

Unless you plan on spending all or most of your park time at MK, stay where you are. BC is walking distance to two parks. The monorail ride to Epcot takes quite a while since you have to change trains at the TTC.

The only plus I can see for staying at a monorail resort is getting a room with a view of the fireworks.

That short walk back to beach club after a few drinks at night is a blessing. If you are not going to use the pool, you will save a few $$$ by staying at the Boardwalk where there will be less screaming kids and more couples in the non DVC annex.

The first weekend in Feb is a great time because the parks are empty on Superbowl Sunday. If you are staying Sunday night, you can stay at EPCOT till 11pm on Monday on your checkout day, just skip the wine and pints if you are driving home.

It completely depends on where you plan to do most of your park touring. If it's MK, switch to a MK resort. If it's EP/DHS, stay BC.

Thanks for the advice. Not sure the breakdown of which parks we will go to when, likely spend a bit of time in each, but the park that I'm always drawn to in the evening is Ep, which is why I booked BC. I am always tempted to stay in a Monorail resort for the views and history but I think I will keep my BC reservation.

Feb. Is a good time to go. Beach club is a great place to stay especially if you like the countries in Epcot. Its also less of a crowd compared to any of the hotels on the monorail loop by the Magic Kingdom. It all depends on which parks you are going to enjoy while you are on your trip.
