We took our DS- 2 yr old to WDW and he was very scared of most of the rides in the parks! I was very surprised by this as he has no fear in jumping off the couch head first!!!!! Anyway, we had bought one of the flashing Mickey toys that spin, and it worked wonders for us!!!! In Spaceship Earth, it is dark the whole time (forgot) and he was soooooooo scared, we held the button on the light for the rest of the ride and he was fine. So............you may want to take something that lights up on the first couple of rides with your little ones that have never been!

And, if you take something like that (a little flashlight or whatever) please don't drive the people around you nuts! We were "lucky" enough to ride one Doom Buggy in front a lovely family at the Haunted Mansion, but they had given their little girl a keychain light to keep her from being frightened. Well, she shined it all over everything all during the ride! She would aim it at the ceiling, the walls, the ghosts - everything. It totally ruined the effects for all of us who were near them. :guilty: I wouldn't have minded at all if she had kept it pointed at her feet or kept her hand over it or something. It drove me nuts!

I never thought of that!!!!!!!!We just shined it at his legs! I would hope people have enough sense not to ruin other people's rides!!!!!!
