We plan to do a one day combined ticket for Universal and IOA two weeks from today. We've been to Universal several times but not for about 4 years. We have not been to IOA though. Neither of us is a big thrill ride Hulk Coaster type but we do want to experience Spiderman. Other than that we have no real plans. Can anyone please suggest highlights of IOA we could do in the bulk of the day? I guess being there on a Saturday in August plays into this too. Thanks in advance.

Dear vwlfan ,
We have done this twice in years past on a weekday(s) in April and Oct. so take that into account when you read my suggestions . First I would suggest you read some ride reviews to see which rides sound like fun to you and then prioritize them on a list in order of preference . My suggestions of things not to miss at IOA would be Spiderman , Dudley Do Right Falls, Popeyes Bilge Barge , Jurassic Park River Adventure , Poseidens Fury , and The Cat In The Hat . Hope this helps .

also when you go to universal go to the new attractions which are fear factor live revenge of the mummy and shrek 4-d

we'll also be there two weeks from today! cannot decide if we're going to do one park or both... gotta figure that out so we can order our tickets! LOL! we're also not big thrill riders, but we've never been there, so hoping we can do most of both in a day...

Wow. I think it will be tough to do both parks on a Saturday in August. If you have been to US several times, you might just go there for the new attractions like Shrek and the Mummy if you're interested in them. I would definitely spend most of the day at IOA. Even without the Hulk or Dragons (I'm assuming Dr Doom is probably out, too), there is a lot to do. I agree with Captain America's recommendations. Plus, the theming in the differerent Islands is so cool (much better than US, IMO), that I would plan to spend most of your day there taking it all in. Two days would be better of course, or three, or four... ;)

i'm thinking the only way to do both parks in one day is to bite the bullet and buy the express pass thingy... or it may be cheaper to get a room for a night, even if we're not planning to use it to get FOTL privileges... is that as crazy as it sounds? (the express pass book for one day/two parks/four people in august would cost about $212... a room for a night at RPR would be under $150... and we'd have a place to take a break if need be... and free parking? hmmmm... not a bad option... yes?)

If you are able to get a room for that price, than by all means do that. You would get FOTL for 2 days, the day of arrival and the day of departure. So even if you had a couple spare hours the second day, it's a huge bonus.

I appreciate the advice.. Sometimes I think these plans get as complicated as D Day.

gratefully
