Please help me decide what to do. My DH will be at a seminar until 1pm on Oct. 2 the day we have MNSSHP scheduled. We arrive 2 days earlier but planned not to visit the MK until he can be with us. Soooooo, my question is, instead of going to another park that day and wearing everyone out for that evening, is it a good idea to just get to MK around 2pm and stay through the MNSSHP? And if anyone has done this, what do you do about costumes for the kids? I think I might rent a locker and keep the costumes there until its time for the party. Or is it easier just to wait until 7pm and go then? We've been to WDW many times but never when my husband has business scheduled and its very important for him to be with DS5 and DD3 when they see the castle that first time each trip. Thats not corny is it?

are you staying at a resort? Can you just hang out there and swim and then all go to the party?

Your little ones may get tired out by the time the party starts. Is there any way you can relax by the pool and head over to MK around 4:00 or 5:00?

If you want to go around 2:00p then be sure and have a stroller that way they won't get to tired out and maybe the little one can nap.

That's a great idea putting the costumes in the locker till you need them.

It's totally up to you and how you think your kids will be by the time the party starts.

We certainly have done another park in the AM, rested awhile and then headed to the party and did just fine.

Good luck deciding!

I'd either do another park that day or enjoy your resort as was suggsted in a previous post. Save your energy for a later night at MK!

If you get to MK between 4:00 and 5:00 and stay at MNSSHP until at least 10:00 you'll probably get on as many attractions in that time as you would in an entire day at MK during regular "business hours".

You can probably get through most of Fantasyland between 4:00 and 6:00 when MNSSHP ticketholders are moved to Tomorrowland. I bet you could probably ride Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and one other ride before the party officially starts.

My MNSSHP experience tells me that Mickey's ToonTown can be very crowded. Considering the ages of your kids, that may be an issue. But the crowds throughout the rest of MK have been very manageable.

Have fun!

My only thought is if you wait till 2 to enter the park, you will only have 2 hours on that ticket - because you have purchased an MNSSHP ticket that is valid from 4 on....

so I'd go to a low key park, for us that's AK - do the trails, the safari, the show, then head back to the resort for a rest, then to MNSSHP at 4... that way I will have gotten at least 5 hours on one ticket... but again, you have to know your kids, what works best, works best!! :wizard:

I wouldn't waste a full-day ticket on a few hours in the park when your MNSSHP one kicks in at 4. Rest or swim before heading to the park.

Plus we found that the park was SO crowded during the last few hours (from 4-6pm) before the party started that we couldn't ride any rides anyway.

We carried our costumes in a bag and just changed in the restroom at Crystal Palace after dinner.

This year we plan on leaving for the park at 4, having dinner at Crystal Palace at 5pm and then enjoying all MNSSHP has to offer - last year we walked on ALL rides without ANY wait!!!

Have fun!!!

Thank you all so much for the advice. First of all I have to tell you how dumb I am. I forgot that I changed my email address and never made the change on the DISboards so I never got your replies until today. Now that I have changed my email and I realize that people have replied, I can tell you all that I have an AP so wasting a days ticket is not an issue.
I think that since my husband will have been in a seminar all morning he may be really excited to get to the MK rather than just stay at the hotel. But I may be wrong. The other problem I have is that as much as I would love for my kids to take a nap they just don't do them.
Maybe if I really wear them out at the pool in the morning, they might be so tired that they would have to take a nap after lunch and I can get to MK by 5.

I really think staying at your resort, have a nice big lunch, swim, rest hopefully nap is the best thing to do with 2 kidlets that young. Then head over to the MK between 4 and 5pm and enjoy the party! :flower:

I was having this same debate, and my kiddos are 16, 14, and 11! :) I finally decided to only do MNSSHP that day, but another factor for me was that the day we are planning to go is toward the end of our trip, and I think we will need the rest by then. :tilt: Good luck, and have fun! :jumping2:

Maybe you could take the kids to DTD that marning/early afternoon then go back to the resort and rest awhile before going. No matter what you decide to do Have Fun ;)
