Just wondering if anybody knows how to get the best price for xmas flights out of Halifax?

We usually drive, but my parents are going to join us for a week this coming xmas and I'd like to find the best price for their trip down.

Thanks:thumbsup2

We did the same thing a couple of years ago and my parents got the best rate from WestJet. However I will warn you that they were delayed by weather and WestJet was unable to switch their return flight. I booked them flights back with Air Canada so that they could spend more than 24 hours at WDW. My father was very disappointed with the service they received and wrote them a letter; they were generous enough to give my parents a flight credit which they used the following year to visit with us at WDW. So a happy ending after all. I believe there was an earlier thread that discussed websites for finding cheap airfare. When my in-laws have visited us at WDW they have flown out of Bangor as the tickets are at least half the price. I don't know if this would be an option for your parents. Good Luck!:wizard:

Thanks Boomer

I had heard from many that WestJet might be the best bet. We still may explore the Bangor option. I think they could do the drive, but they might get scared off by the weather.:faint:

I know someone that often travels out of Manchester NH via Southwest for some pretty good fares. There's a Holiday Inn close by the airport that will allow you to park for 2wks if you stay one night. Pretty good deal.:thumbsup2

Jet Blue now flys directly from Portland ME to Orlando aswell. They might be another option.::yes::

Cheers

We just booked US Airways out of Bangor for July. It's less then half of what it would cost to fly out of Halifax. I'm thinking that for a good deal you have to fly out of the US...

I'll be using one of those JetBlue direct flights from Portland on Monday.. I'll let you know how it goes..

We are flying Jetblue out of Portland in August. 1/4 of the fare from Halifax!

We are flying Air Tran in August from Portland. It is a non stop flight and flights were $225.00. There are 5 of us and one flight from Halifax would be atleast 3 times that amount. Can't beat that.:cool1:

Thanks for all the good info. I'll keep checking on the US based flights. Anybody know where to park when flying out of Bangor or Portland?

:confused3

In Bangor both the Days Inn and Ramada on Odlin road offer Park N Fly for little to no increase in rates.

Portland seems to be a little more difficult.

5 ppl out of Halifax over 5000 bucks
5 ppl out of bangor (two weeks ago) 1800 bucks

big difference in price :)

We are staying in Portland at Holiday Inn express:goodvibes . The price is $107.00 and it advertises a free hot breakfast. We are able to park the car there for $10.00 for the first 7 days and $10.00/day after that.:thumbsup2 This will be our first time staying here.
