Advice for first timer

We booked the World of Color dessert party and that was AWESOME, highly recommend it. They did a special graduation writing on my son's plate, he enjoyed that. We had a graduation dinner the first night at Chef Goofy's. They brought him a cute cupcake with a graduation pin on it, and gave him quite a bit of attention. It's just like Chef Mickey's really....and very expensive I might add. But he enjoyed it.

Did you just tell them your son was graduating when you made your ADR?

We are used to ph so that's what we get. An alternative idea is to see how your first day goes and upgrading to ph that day if it's not working out.

I like bwppi but not with thatany people in the room. Have you looked at the family suite at Camelot inn? We like there as well.

Comparably priced and including breakfast and m-th dinner is HomeWood suites convention center. We like the bunk bed room when we had 4 adults 2 babies in cribs.

Get the hoppers.....you will love the flexibility! I would choose BWPPI.....as mentioned, decent breakfast and it is about the closest to the parks - with the exception of the GCH, of course! Talk about convenient! pop out of your room and the crosswalk is at the end of the driveway......and very, very nice after a long day in the parks!

Did just check Homewood Suites, but not available. Still torn. Did check Camelot, but it is quite a bit more money.

Thanks for all the information everyone!

That would be great
Here are my feelings on DI & S. It is older and in need of a refurb. The furniture is dinged, and the bathrooms are very basic, and the towels pretty thin. But it was very clean, and housekeeping always did a good job. The beds were fairly comfortable...I prefer a firm bed. The wifi was terrible. We didn't use the pool, it was indoor. The breakfast was a dud, but they did have bananas and apples and cereal. The room was very big...we had the C1 suite...and it had 1 1/2 baths which was nice, and 4 beds. So the size was great for my family of five. There is very little self parking but we did get a spot, can't speak to the valet parking. Would we stay here again? Maybe. Probably, yes. The price was good for the size of room, and we don't spend a lot of time in the hotel. The time we do spend is sleeping, and it's nice to have enough comfortable bed space for everyone.

Just a vote for staying in Santa Monica....we travel to LA regularly and it is the best spot. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and a nice beach vibe. Visit the Getty museum, wander to Venice, drive to Malibu.Hollywood can be a bit of a trek traffic wise, but stay out of rush hour and it's not that long. And once you are there, you can see the main attractions pretty quickly.
