Advice for booking 2010 holidays

We would like to try and spend next Christmas in a dedicated 2BR at VWL where we are members. I have never tried to book this period and know it will be a huge challenge. The 11 month booking time will soon be here, but will it even be possible? Do you have a chance with just working the phone lines on the actual 11 month date? OR do you have to use the "walking strategy" I have often read about. I know some people don't approve of this strategy, but I am will to play whatever game I need to play to make this happen.

I do not think you need to "walk" your reservation. Just call at 9 Eastern, when your 11 month window opens. MS phones will be busy most of January, so start dialing a minute or two before they open and prepare to be both patient and persistent!

Remember that you can now call 11 months prior to the check IN date.

There is a slight possibility that you will have to use the waitlist, but even if you do, the waitlist should work for you.
