I'm looking for advice to minimize my wait time and choose the right parks.

Backstory: I'm a Canadian who frequently visits the Ohio and Pennsylvania parks, often. As far as I'm concerned cedar point it the best place on earth. I love coaster big and small. Currently I'm halfway through a contract teaching English in South Korea. For my vacation I hit up all the great coasters in Japan. However these parks were ridiculously crowded. I waited almost 2 hours for the Peter Pan ride at Tokyo Disney.

When I come back to western society in march I will be stopping in California. From March 1st to March 4th I have the opportunity to get 4 parks in. I know it's not busy season, but I still have a Saturday and a Sunday in there.

My plan so far is:
Sat - Knotts berry farm
Sun - Magic Mountain
Mon - Disney California adventure
Tue - Disneyland

None of this is set in stone except for the dates. Any suggestions, tips, warnings or comments on what parks to see and what days would be best would be greatly appreciated. Above all I like to ride coasters, a lot. I want Disneyland for more nostalgic reasons than anything. I'm also all for getting out of LA for something worth it.

Thanks for your input. Your advice is greatly appreciated, and will be used.

I'm not a DL expert but I know for our trip we focused on doing DL during the weekend (Fri, Sat or Sun) because hours are longer and they don't do Fantasmic and Fireworks during weekdays in slower periods. Not sure about your dates. Looks like they do World of Color every night in DCA.

Have a wonderful trip!

I would swap your day at DCA with Knott's. Knotts is dead on weekdays.

Sat - Disney California Adventure
Sun - Magic Mountain
Mon - Knott's
Tue - Disneyland

That what I would do.

Take advantage of the Single Rider lines at the parks. They will dramatically reduce your waits.

Six Flags:

Drop of Doom
Green Lantern
Riddlers Revenge
Viper
Revolution

DCA:

Radiator Springs Racers
Soarin
Goofys Sky School
Grizzly River Run
California Screamin

Disneyland:

Indiana Jones Adventure
Splash Mountain
Matterhorn Bobsleds

Universal Studios:

Revenge of the Mummy
Transformers
Jurassic Park

Knotts, no ride has single rider option.

We head out to LA in 3 weeks and when we are there we are hitting all these parks too. We are a party of 3 who do all the coasters - though I am a bit unsure about some of those at MM:eek::eek:

We are planning to visit MM on a Sunday, Knotts on a Thursday - will be going to DL park and DCA over a few days - weekdays (2 Wednesday on a weekday Wednesday and over a weekend (Fri, Sat and Sunday) - weekends just because we enjoy long park hours and an afternoon break plus they don't show fireworks or Fantasmic on September weekdays.

Happy to share my experiences on our return.

Thanks guys!

I'm not to concerned about the live shows and parades... Meh.

But I'll definitely think about switching Knotts.

OK but during parades and shows, often you can ride the coasters with minimal waits.
