Hi all,

Long time no post! We have been to Paris a lot in the last few years and haven't been to WDW since our Disneymoon in 2009!

We've been to Florida a good few times but now have two little ones in tow for any future trips so have a few questions which you can hopefully help with.

We're looking to either go end of June 2017 or in October 2017 for two weeks. We'd prefer direct flights if we can - anyone any recommendations out of Scotland? We've looked and Thomson seem to be good price wise for their packages but the October flight only deals aren't out yet. I notice the Disney Dining is on offer as well until early Nov - any views/thoughts on if it's worth it?

Flight wise - what's the deal with any car seats and buggies to take along? I know that car hire is included - is it worth just organising our own thing (given the likely heavy CDW sell) - what about hiring seats? What's the advice on taxis or transfers if we just stayed and Disney and wanted a couple of trips to the Outlets/Universal?

Tickets - wow! We plan to base ourselves at WDW and the cost of this is bad enough but a quick look suggest we're looking at £500 for the 4 of us for two days at Universal?! Tell me I'm wrong or point me in the direction.

Lots of questions......hopefully you wonderful people can point me in the right direction!

if you're going to stay onsite at a mod or deluxe anyway, then free food is worth it any way you look at it.

you're usually allowed to take a stroller on top of the kid's luggage allowance. Check with the airline you'll book with, some will get you both stoller and car seat, some will only allow one.

I know that car hire is included -

most of the time, it will be less expensive to book flight and car separately. Some will even not collect their flydrive car and rent a car from another company as it's less expensive.

you should always book through the UK outlet of the car rental company. CDW and $1 million liability are included in the rates your quoted on Brit sites, they're not on US sites, and they're most probably not included as standard in your flydrive offer. (that's where the car hire becomes too expensive when you get it WITH your flight)

- what about hiring seats?

very dear, but convinient.
you could also buy inexpensive inflatable bubble bums (depending on the age of the child) or haul your own if your airline allows you to
or if they don't, just buy a cheapo one, put it in your suitcase on the way to florida, and just gift or trash it before going home to make room for the souvenirs.

What's the advice on taxis or transfers if we just stayed and Disney and wanted a couple of trips to the Outlets/Universal?

Taxi or Uber to those places.
Think around $90 round trip taxi fare for universal. (uber significantly less)

A 2 days park to park (required if you want to ride hogwarts express) wil lhit you for $915 (2 adults, 2 children)
that's £705 current exchange rate
children under 3 go free, so that might help with the price and probably be the reason why you're looking at £500
Attraction Tickets direct has a 14 days, unlimited visits, for 3 parks (including the soon to open volcano bay waterpark) for £220 per person

October is a lovely time to go crowds and weather wise. How far are you from Manchester I know some travel down as flights can be cheaper.

Onsite disney is a good deal if you want mainly disney. No car/car seats unless you want as you can use magical express and onsite transportation.

Universal prices have risen. Lots to do and harry potter stuff is amazing.

Regarding flights, we always fly direct from Glasgow, more often than not during the October holidays and always with Virgin Atlantic. I have flown Economy and Premium and both are good. 2017 flights, at least for June leave on Friday and Saturday, I expect October will be the same. next year though we are flying end of May 2017 and had a look at the Thomson flights. They fly Monday and Wednesday. To be honest I found the prices fairly similar so will probably stick with Virgin. The October holiday flights will almost certainly be more expensive than May/June

I tend to book flights direct and hotel and tickets separate so cant comment on package prices. If you are looking at a Disney Hotel with free dining I think the offer ends shortly so its something to keep an eye on.

All the best
