I do worry about Kyra and the what she may face when she is older, I would hate for anyone to judge her because of her skin colour.

It is only natural to be concerned about that but people can be picked on for all sorts of things unfortunately. The main thing is for a child to grow up with the love and support you are obviously giving her which will give her great strength in character to withstand any problems she may experience. Kids will pick on anything that is different but it is up to us as parents to educate our children.

We all worry about what our kids might face. Thankfully society is changing and the racist attitudes of the past are no longer tolerated by the majority. I have a feeling that Kyra will grow into a feisty woman who will fight her corner if she ever needs to. She has a good role model.

I think the paint idea is a good one as its visual.

Not quite the same but people used to think my Mum was my Gran as she had me quite late and went grey at a young age, plus when I was with my Step-Dad someone said to me don't you look like your Dad.

My Dad has always looked pretty old. I remember when I was about 9 and a school friend said to me, 'I saw you with your Granddad on Saturday.' It was my Dad not my Granddad but I was so embarrassed that I just agreed. I still feel guilty about that - and it was 30 odd years ago!

When we were 1st married I mind a double glazing sales man coming to the door and seeing Len behind me asked if he could speak to my Dad,
I nearly peed myself laughing and said no probs he will be in from work after 5, shut the door,
