I have a Samsung Galaxy 3S phone with Virgin Mobile.

I want to be able to use my android apps in the USA but Virgin charges £5 per 1MB data.

Can I buy a sim card in the USA and put it in my UK phone?

Any advice as to what to do. Is it worth bothering with?

Thanks in advance

Is your phone unlocked? If so you can get a US SIM and pop it in otherwise you would need to see if Virgin will unlock it. Last resort will using any WiFi hotspots you come across.

Forgot to mention that it was a sim free phone (open to any network) - just chose a Virgin Sim Card as get extra perks with having virgin media at home (and not tied to a contract as its a 30 day rolling contract that can be ended/changed at any time)

Yep you can pop in any US sim card, so get a PAYG one with a decent amount of data usage :thumbsup2

Can you get a Payg Sim in the US with data? That's something I'd be keen to get if I could
