We are planning a trip in May to WDW and I've seen the photos of BBB. I would like to hear from some people who have done it. Would you do it again? Was it worth it? It looks to be a bit pricey. Is it one of those 'BBB: $50, the look on my daughter's face: priceless' moments? My DD is a total girly girl and I know she'd love it. princess: I spoke w/a friend who said it was wonderful, but I'd like a few more opinions before committing to it.

My DD has done BBB on both of our trips - once at age 3 1/2 and once at not quite 4 1/2. Both times it was worth every penny though I must say the first time was more magical to see that look on her face when they spun her around. She did a different hair style each time. This most recent time she went to the BBB at MK and then we went to CRT for breakfast. It was great!

I highly recommend that all girls that are into the princesses and dressing up go to BBB at least once.

That's great. My DD is 4-1/2 and loves dressing up and playing with hair and makeup so she'll love it. Do we make ressies? how do you get in?

If you are planning to eat at CRT before/after your appointment, you can tell them that you are planning to do BBB when you make your CRT appointment and they will make both appointments for you. So call at 7am on your 180th day, cross your fingers, and hope for ADRs at both!!!

We are not doing CRT, cant' get in, we only just paid for our May trip yesterday and really started planning it a few weeks ago. So I know we're not doing that. Is it as hard to get in to BBB? Should I call now?

We have done it twice. My DD's were 4 and 6 and then 5 and 7. The best time was the first because we didn't know what to expect. The second time was no big deal. The best part is that they do them up and when they are done they turn them to look into the mirror to see themselves for the first time. Once was a great experience. They want to do it again, but i just think its a waste of time and money.

You should have no problem getting in if you are flexible with your times but I would call as soon as you can.

My dd did it in Sept. She loved it. Someone is doing your hair while someone else is doing your nails and make up. Photo pass people take pictures along the way, so if you are getting the Cd from your photo pass all the pictures are there.

If you get it done at DTD instead of MK go over to Guest Services and they will take some candid photos there. I really loved these and didn't include them in the package at BBB because I had the the on the CD again and could blow any up I wanted. You can also go over there if you get it done at MK .

Last year I just took my dd their with out going to BBB but she was all dressed up like Sleeping Beauty. They did a few of her close up, posing they turned out great.

My dd sleep with a bun in her hair for two nights. We took her back the second day to get some more hairspray ( because I didn't bring any) and they fixed her up with my pixie dust too.

We have done BBB three times over the past three years and everytime my dd has loved every minute of it she is a girly girl as well and loves this kind of stuff. We will definitely do it again infact she asked me next time she goes will I do it w/ her. "Is it one of those 'BBB: $50, the look on my daughter's face: priceless' moments?" "YES". The castle is pricey and is really only good if you plan on buying all of those things in disney the expierence is great but if your budget doesn't allow it you can do things similar. Doing one of the other packages you can have them put you dress in the dressing room when you get there if you want. You will get to keep the makeup and nail polish or fake nails which ever you choose. The photo session that comes with the castle package you can also have done and you don't even have to buy the photos they will put them right on your photo pass and you can have them all on the cd if you order it.

After the process was over everywhere my dd went she had such a great time w/ everyone commenting on how beautiful she looks and so on. Every pic she was in or even just walking around she was posing and curtseing (sp?) everywhere.

Totally worth it. We did the least expensive package at the Castle location ($48 I believe, plus I tipped our Fairy Godmother in Training...Liz). My daughter (4) wore her Cinderella dress & shoes to the appt. and getting to pick her hair style and her make-up colors made her day. It was well worth the time (20 minutes) and effort to do it. It was also a lot of fun to watch all of the other girls in there too. There are probably 15 stations so there is a lot of activity and lots to watch. Be sure to use the photopass. I got some great pix. Also, do an early morning appt so your little princess can stay in princess mode all day. We had a 9:00 AM BBB appt and then 10:00 AM reservations or breakfast with Cinderella. She stayed dressed up all day, until we left the park at 11:00 PM....and she was fussed over all day. The cast members called her princess, etc. She was in HEAVEN. I would do it again when we go back.

Thanks for all of the info! I am definitely going to call today. We have ADR for the Princess Storybook lunch at Akershus (?), I'll see if we can go there before so she's looking like a princess for her lunch. I've found a costume that's Belle - like (gold w/sequins and a hoop) for her to wear and a Belle tiara, so that would be just perfect. My DH and DS will just have to find something to do while we're getting made up!:goodvibes

Here is an "After" shot of SE when she went last year on her birthday.

And this is the Shot that makes it all worth while.. when they show your "Princess" their new Look.. ( which BTW stays in place till you take it down.. we left it up 4 days.

My girls both enjoyed it last year and chose to do it again when we go in two weeks instead of doing some other "special" thing - I had suggested the pirate cruise. DD5 is very much into princesses and had lots of fun last year. She did not want them to put makeup on her, which was fine with me, but she loved the hair and nails. DD8 is very much a tomby but thought she looked "so cool" with her Diva hair extensions. We are going this year before the Pirate and Princess Party, so it should be a great evening! :thumbsup2

What a great picture! I'm really excited! Does the hair stay up even through some of the H2O splashes at some of the rides? Is it a gelmet?:goodvibes

Yeah... it takes a SOAKING to get that hair down. It began having issues on th "Kali River Rapids" but this was on the 4th day... so I took out the crown and the pins but left the pony tail in... and let her get in the pool.

As everyone has stated, yes, it is so worth it. My DD, 7, loved it! We did the package with the hair and makeup and nails, no dress. She doesn't really get into dressing up too much.

I feel so embarassed to ask this now, but are you supposed to tip? I didn't and I don't know why. I normally do when i get my own hair cut, etc. But I didn't even think about it for some reason!

Up until the castle location opened you were not allowed to tip. Once it opened tipping was allowed but it is simply what you feel if you can and it can not be added to your bill it has to be cash in put in their hand.
