Adventures of a DisneyWORLDholic! Updated1/24 I was an unofficial WDW tour guide.

Beautiful pictures of the resort! I like how "empty" it appears! (note my previous comment!!:rolleyes1) BTW: even POR?!? Ugh! The bad part was even some of the mothers were acting that way! And the really "fun" part was having a 15 year old son along! :lmao:

Love all of the pictures around the resort. My boys would love the picture of the ducks playing baseball:goodvibes I hope the not so nice people don't ruin the evening.

It did seem very empty that afternoon. But we noticed a lot of people checking in and when I spoke to the lifeguard she said a lot had checked out that morning.

Your poor son having to look at all those cheerleaders.:rotfl2:

We would never allow anyone to ruin our vaca.:goodvibes

Jacob and I made it back to the room. Got Jonas up, changed into our outfits and were on our way. Can't remember if I have posted a pic of our costumes or not, so here it is (or maybe here it is again.)

We hopped in the car and drove to MK. Somehow I never get lost going there.:cool1:

We parked in Sleepy, which Jonas commented he had never even seen that parking lot before. And of course, we are never close to the tram, we always seem to park right at the other end.:sad2:

We made our walk to the tram and were on our way. Got to the TTC and rode the monorail per Jacob's request. I was super excited to see this waiting for us

Sadly we didn't get to ride that one. A CM told us it wasn't communicating with the pilot, so it was off to the shop. They transferred us to the resort line, which was kind of odd getting on through the exit doors. Also threw me off when we arrived at MK because I was so use to the routine of how to enter and exit the monorail.

We did meet a very nice Pilot who hopped on board with us. He gave all the kids "wings". They were just stickers, but I kept them for scrapbooking. Jacob asked for the key to the monorail and the CM showed it to us. It is actually just a little thing they swipe over a sensor. He told us they know exactly who was driving, their speed, and everything else they need to know.

We told him we had been fortunate to get to ride as copilots twice. He started telling how much things had changed since the monorail accident. He said until just a few months ago, he was still allowing kids to get their picture taken in the Pilots chair while it was stopped at a station, but sadly they can't even do that anymore. He also said even the CM's can't ride up front anymore unless they are in training.:sad1:

Our ride was over and we said our goodbyes to the nice pilot and made our way into the park. Forgot to take pics here, sorry. It was just after 4:00, so they had set it up so MNSSHP guests could enter on one side and get their wristbands.

Jacob had been freakin out about trick or treat bags. I told him we would get one there and he kept bugging us about this until we each had one in our hand. All that kid was worried about this night was CANDY! Became a theme and later a meltdown for us all later on.

I always like to get Jacob's haircut at MK. One of those little things we won't be able to do much longer and he has never had a bad cut, unlike some of the other places I try to take him.

A few photos inside the park first,

Jacob wanted this picture

He said that lady probably never asks if her butt looks big in that dress. He loves that Abe Lincoln commercial.

Made it to the Barbershop, while Jonas went to the ATM so I would have cash for the tip. There was a long line outside the shop, but I had been smart. I remember that reservations were available the day before (Thank you Dis for having the little article up top on the home page). So I had called and made the ressie. I walk up to the line and ask if they are all in line and if anyone has a reservation. Everyone said "No" about the ressie, so I walked in. Now remember how I said they were all lined up at the door. No one was inside. Anyone that has been in the barbershop knows you walk in and sit down. Everyone has always been very nice and kept up with what order people walk in. I guess these people weren't having it. Another lady joined me inside and asked if I had a ressie. I said I did and she had one too. She said everyone in the line gave her attitude stating "Everyone knows they don't have reservations here!" About that time one of the lady Barbers, not sure what to call her, asked everyone to come inside because they were letting out all of the cold air. She then asked if one us was a certain name, turns out it was the lady beside me. She got her little girl around the crowd and they got started. This is where I got upset that the crowd had gotten mean with her because her little girl had Down Syndrome. Just made me mad.

One lady asked what you do for a reservation and I told her. Then people started asking when this started and I said a month or so ago. They were not happy at all.

The one lady with the little girl got a special certificate for her daughter, which I thought was wonderful. Wasn't a first cut one, something specific for those kids that need a little extra attention. Then it was our turn. Jacob doesn't like the "magic", so he just got some gel in his

Jonas was a chicken and didn't come in with the crowd

He actually walked around Main Street exploring the shops. It was so funny because he said the never gets to explore. That's funny considering Jacob and I always try to but end up having to catch Jonas. We were finally done, paid and on our way.:woohoo:

So glad you had reservations for Jacob's haircut! It's funny how people reacted when you walked past them - people can be so cruel sometimes (in reference to that little girl.)

Halloween at MK looks so much fun! Will have to try it one of these years :goodvibes

Hi Melissa!

Was I the 'special someone' for The Donald? :flower3: Even if I wasn't I'll just take it anyway!

Am hoping to get Ben's haircut in the barbershop in MK, hopefully the people in the queue will be a bit nicer when we go!

Looking forward to seeing the MNSSHP photos!

Your poor son having to look at all those cheerleaders.:rotfl2:

I know...poor Chris!! It was a huge sacrifice for him! He wanted to stay at the pool most days! :rotfl2:

I hadn't really cared one way or the other about MNSSHP before but these last few weeks I have REALLY wanted to be there...maybe just withdrawals? :confused3 But I shall live vicariously through your pictures! :goodvibes

I think that commercial is hilarious with Abe Lincoln! That picture and comment had me LOL!

Lastly, I do not understand people some times. That is so nice that they give special certificates!

Those pictures are getting me so excited for our Halloween trip! My DD's costume just came in the mail today! I can't wait. Don't keep us waiting too long for another update:)

I hope you do. I just love seeing the characters in costume. Guess that is why I love SWW also.

How in the world did I forget your love of the Donald also. I have two followers that love him. I think there are move pics to come.

Highly recommend the appointment. There is a $10 charge if you don't show up, but to me that was worth having the appointment and not waiting an hour.

I understand your withdrawals. Being there during halloween is cool, just seeing all of the pumpkins carved out is amazing.

That certificate was very special. Some of that special Disney magic I love.

:woohoo: on the costume arriving. I'll get to another update in the morning.

Jacob had great looking hair so the M&M's (us) headed down Main Street. The CM's were out directing traffic. They line up in the middle of Main Street with little signs saying goodbye to MK guests, and "Boo To You" to the MNSSHP guests. I love the little signs the CM's hold.

You notice I am not the only one that loves these

We noticed the crane behind the castle

What was it doing there? I have no idea, but it was gone later.

We walked past Casey's and then past Crystal Palace and Jonas decided he was hungry. We have never eaten at Casey's because they don't have anything Jacob will eat. Jacob said he wasn't hungry, he was worried about the candy.:headache: Back we went to get Jonas and I some food. Found a table inside for us to sit and had Jacob hold it for us.

Of course I choose the slow line, but I ordered apples instead of fries and we reminded the CM as she handed us a tray with two fries. She gave me both. Sometimes the slow line works out for the best.:goodvibes

After our nice little meal, we headed off towards PoTC. But first, I thought of Jungle Cruise. Hadn't done it in awhile.

Jacob wanted to play with the tarantula but we ended up directed onto the boat in the opposite line. He wasn't a happy camper.

You can see Dad didn't feel sorry for him.

A lot of my pics didn't come out, but I did get that one of the other side of water

After that, PoTC. We basically walked right on. I didn't take any pics because I get so frustrated trying to get a good one on this ride. But, once we were off the ride (which was incredibly pleasant since no one used a flash the whole time), I got this one

Jacob always likes to play with the ugly fingers you can fill a chest with

At this time Jacob asked yet again if it was Trick or Treating time, which it still was only 5:15. I have to admit, I was ready for the party to start myself.

We headed back towards Splash and BTMRR. Would we melt?

Those are cute signs. I bet my kids are the same way when we go to the MNSSHP. We're planning on entering early and riding rides until the party officially starts, but I bet they just keep asking about the candy:rolleyes:

Love Joans's fac ein that photo!!! :rotfl::rotfl: That's exactly the sort of thing Gordon would do!

The signs are so cute - can't wait to see them ourselves! And we're planning on eating at Casey's!!

I hope they don't bother you as bad as mine, but I you do have a couple more than I.

Yes, I keep thinking our DH's are a lot alike. I'm supper excited for you to get to go to the party!!!

First off, sorry I haven't posted in so long. Life getting in the way of Dis'ing. Thought I would do a quick update before cleaning house.

We finally pried those creepy finger tips off of Jacob and headed over to my favorite ride at WDW. There are two rides in the area, anyone know where we were? I'm sure you do. Do we do Splash or BTMRR?

We decided on this one

You notice it says 10 minutes, it wasn't that long. We ended on the right hand side with a little line there on the incline down to the trains. The other side was empty at this point. One man was telling his daughter to jump over the railing. I told them we would move in just a moment, but he wasn't having that. We started moving just as they jumped over. Have some patience folks.

This kid does not like this ride, so why does he look happy?

I have figured out one reason Jacob doesn't like this ride is because of this area:

Too loud for him. Maybe I will take some earplugs to let him try next time.

I've taken lots of pics of the scenery on this ride, so got my yellow and red M&M this time:

Does he look like he dislikes to ya'll?

And next up

Are you surprised?

Remember how I said Jacob likes to ruin every photo

Yup, that's his hand in there.

We got to walk on, but sadly Jacob decided he didn't want to ride. So he took the chicken out exit.

And got this lovely shot

Before this happened:

We all know what that means

We got soaked.

And i just love to take pictures of these little houses

There was a little boy in front of us that was scared and his mother turned to us on the first drop to ask if it was the big one. We told them no and we would let them know when the big one did come. When it came to the one that feels like a rollercoaster I told them it the really fun was coming up and how it felt like a coaster. The mom turned to her son and said "You like rollercoasters." And he did enjoy that one. When the ride was over I asked if he liked it, he didn't like that big drop.

Here is Jonas trying to figure out how to dry off

We barely got wet from the big drop, it was that splash at the beginning. And then I got wet yet again there where water is running down.

And here are the wet M&M's

I catch Jacob doing this pose in front of the mirror all the time

This is when tragedy struck. We noticed a CM cleaning something up.

Oh no, our M&M family members. A lot of them had been squished. It was horrible.

Jonas decided he wanted a dolewhip. He gets the orange one. Now I love the Pineapple float, but someone had mentioned a Cappacino smoothie and I had been wanting to try it since reading about it. So I decided to wait. Of course Jacob only likes chocolate, so none for him here.

I took photos of flowers while waiting on the hubby

Another one of my, Jacob you shouldn't be doing this, but let me take a pic moments

Now, as many as times as I have been at the parks, I still notice things I haven't paid attention to before. This day, it was the benches

It was getting close to party time, but still having to hear "When does the candy start?" Jonas wanted to do this

While we were in there, the party started and that will be my next update. Hopefully I'll get to it soon. Got to get this house clean, I have invited my neighbor, new walking with a little running partner, to come over tomorrow night and our boys can watch Star Wars: Clone Wars together. He husband is deployed for a year, so I am trying to keep her busy. Oh, mine is gone for a couple of weeks also. Saturday we plan to go to DisneyQuest and a Dismeet. And I almost forgot Sunday was the big meet with Dr. Finklestein and her family, so we will be going to WDW twice this weekend. Please gas prices DROP!!! Like that will ever happen.

My kids don't like that Splash Mountain drop either. It's just too big for them. Great update. Can't wait to see the details about the party! And I'm so jealous that you are heading to Disney World this weekend! Oh to live in Florida:cloud9:

love my buddy's new hair do!!! Cutieeeeeeeee !!!:flower3:

This one is for someone special

is that where he was??? hmmm I waited all night for him to go home... and goes what he still lost!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

... Just Ducky!!!!!! :rolleyes1

I really wondering what I will do on weekends when we don't live here anymore.

I'll have to tell him that!

Oops, did I get him in trouble.:rotfl2:

We walk out of Country Bear Jamboree (we had already discussed which direction to go before the show) and made a left towards Splash.

Has anyone ever wondered how they force non-party guests out...

I apologize for the blurriness. I think I was actually shaking from excitement and seeing those CM's makes it truely official. They line up, check all guests coming through. They were catching people heading to PoTC and to Splash and BTMRR. We showed our wristsbands because we were headed here

This was our 3rd party and we have never hit this trick-or-treating spot.

Little bit of a line, but the cool part was, you went along the side of Splash Moutain towards the train. An area I had never been in before.

Right before that pic was taken, I was trying to walk and take pictures. You see how parts of the moutain are sticking out. Yup, walked right into one. OUCH!!! I'm sure the people behind me who were probably iritated at me for holding up the line picture taking, had a good one with that. ROTFL (I ran out of images so removed all smilies)

BATS

There was another trick-or-treating area in the queue to PoTC, so stopped there. Really cool photo opportunity with a huge chest of gold. Some other people were hogging it though, so Jacob settled for this pic

Saw this family (again I apologize for the blurriness)

We then headed down to Jungle Cruise for more Trick-or-Treating and someone was making an appearance

And I loved this sign

We had never seen the Villain show, so we stopped for that. Jonas went in search of a coke and made it back just in time.

That wasn't Hallowishes starting, just the end of the show. My review of the show, it was cute, but very, very, short and I hate we missed 30 minutes of ride and trick-or-treating time with it. It only lasted about 10 minutes and we had waited 10 or 15 minutes for it to start.

We made our way down Futureland

Decided to do this

Jacob and a group of girls ahead of us started playing with the control panel next to the door. Luckily it didn't work. This was a group of 8 girls and one parent with them. The parent told us she stays away from stuff like that because she accidently leaned against one at a science museum and needless to say, the fire extinguishing (that was planned) went off a little earlier than the employees wanted it to. I don't blame her from staying away from control panels now.

We had a really great show during Monsters, Inc. "That Guy" was an old man in a motorized scooter. He did great though. His wife was "Doesn't know where she is." And she really didn't, I don't think she even noticed she was on the screen. LOL It was great.

But there was the really good thing, Jonas was picked for having 4 eyes.

Jacob was happy because he got on the big screen too. Something he has always wanted. My BFF's hubby got in trouble taking pics in here, so I snapped that pic from my lap. I didn't get caught.

Some more trick-or-treating by CoP, the Speedway, and then through here

My first official trip through Minnie's house. No time looking, we were on a mission, a candy mission.

Then on to the major candy mission

There are 3 or 4 or maybe even more stops along this path. Sadly we had missed this our first trip, and then Jacob and I found it last year. But last year Jonas had went back to the room due to being sick, so he missed out on it.

Usually we watch both parades, but the first parade had already ended. Jonas didn't care where we watched Hallowished, but I sure did. For the 180 effect, you have to be in front of the castle and that is where I was going to be.

We actually found a spot in the hub, on the curb and sat down. There were a couple of trees blocking our view, but that would be ok. Jacob hadn't eaten yet, so I went and got him some chicken nuggets. Earlier I had seen someone caring meals in togo packages. I didn't know they did that, so I tried that and it worked. I had to put the food in the container, the CM said they weren't allowed to. Sure made it easier to carry those nuggets and ketchup for the boy. Along with a coke.

Made it back in time to eat and just wait for the show. Next up: Hallowishes!!!

:yay: the party finally started! Sounds like you made it to lots of candy stops. I know my kids want to do that so we will be hitting our fair share of those. How long did you normally have to wait in line at each stop?
