We just bought DVC (finally)!

I posted this yesterday on the DVC Planning Board but got absolutely no response. Please pardon the cross-posting, but my husband is really curious about this...

One of the things we'd really like to do sometime is the ABD London/Paris trip. However, with banking and borrowing, we'd never have enough points to pay for that in a year. Can you use points for one person and pay cash for the other?

Thanks.

Yes, I believe you can. You would need to call MS to find out for sure.

I agree, call Member Services for clarification. Since you can use points and cash for cruises, it is logical to assume that you could for Adventures as well, but you know what they say about assuming. ;)

We also spoke with MS about that as we are looking at going to Italy through ABD. You may use points for one person and pay cash for the other.

This is NOT from personal experience, but I believe that you can pay cash for one person and use points for the other person. However, you CANNOT use points to partially pay for 1 person.

I am glad I found this tread. My question is how many
points are needed for disney by adventure trips?

Each trip is different. And each trip has different seasons. It can range from about 250 to 600 points per person. It all depends on the trip and the season. Thoses points are based on double occupancy. And remember, the points change from year to year. We are going on the Viva Italia trip this fall and it cost 764 points for two. We are going in value season and we got an early booking discount. Hope that helps a bit.

We have 160 points. Let's just say that, for the London and Paris trip, it would take 3 years' worth of points to pay for *one of us* to go during value season. :scared1:

That trip to Paris and London is one of the most expensive. Well, China and Australia are more. But I have to agree that the trips are quite hefty in points and/or cash. Note: Anyone considering doing ABD, please realize that the flights are not included. Our flights to Italy cost almost $1,200 each. I'll let everyone know when we get back in September whether it was worth it or not.
