That particular performer also does a heck of an Otis. The Balderdash cup with him as the lead never fails to knock me off my barstool...
OTIS!.....I just cant picture it. So long as your knocked of your bar stool , thats all that matters right! The AC is the cat's meow man, the bee's knee's!
I'd love to meet this CM off hours, I betcha he's a real hoot!

Sooo, what exactly IS a Kungaloosh? We've never been to PI, but are planning to go in January when we bring the babysitters --er, I mean grandparents -- with us. The AC sounds really fun -- we're not big "clubbers" but do like to go out for a few drinks at a fun place.

KIM,

I am making you a promise! Make it a night out :goodvibes Go at a later time maybe...10'ish.... go with an open mind :earboy2: (this is important) and get ready for a sore jaw ! These CM's will have you laughing all night! Why go anywhere else.

Kungaloosh is either a yummy strawberry daiquiri-ish drink or an all purpose term of salutation, depending on how you say it.

Like someone else mentioned, go into the AC, have a look around. Give it twenty minutes or so to sink in. By all means attend one of the events, but also pay attention in between when the performers often just hang out in the main salon - improv at its purest.

What day of the week is typically the best at AC?? Think Father's day would be any good? I am a 1st timer to AC but I love improv. Is the improv better at AC or the Sak? We want to take my Dad for a fun Father's day night either Sunday or one day this week.

I think Sunday nights are typically pretty slow, crowdwise. The show will go on as usual.

I don't know what a Sak is but you would most likely enjoy AC.

My DH and I went to the AC for the first time last month. After reading about them on these boards I ordered a kungaloosh. I like strawberry daiquiris, but the kungaloosh was so sickly sweet I couldn't choke down more than a few sips. I don't know if maybe they had a new bartender that night who didn't know how to make them properly or if this is how that drink always tastes but it was so sweet it was undrinkable. I just wanted to warn people that if you don't like your drinks syrupy sweet, the kungaloosh is probably not for you. There was nobody else in the place drinking one of these, so maybe that should have given me a clue...

Despite the problem with the drink, the AC was great fun and I can't wait to go back on our next trip.

AC is the best. I cant remember when I laughed as hard as I did when we were there. :rotfl2:

They just bring you into the show whether you are ready or not.....

This is a must for folks who like to laugh. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I went to the AC last month, and I have to admit, none of our group had a clue. We didn't know what we were supposed to be doing, we didn't get any of the stuff..and we have had more fun talking about not getting it, once we left, than we did when we were inside LOL! We were suppose to meet someone outside the club, so I have to admit my mind was on that (somehow we missed each other, so I found myself continually looking for him)..but really..what the heck was that :rotfl2: I felt like I stumbled into another planet. We'll need to make sure we meet someone next time, who can "explain".

Thank you! We'll definitely go at least twice -- once when the grandparents babysit, and once when it's BIL/SIL's turn to babysit! (and maybe I can snag the Kungaloosh recipe for the night when it's our turn to stay home with the kids.)

The Adventurers Club & the Comedy Club are great!! Similar in that they are both improv comedy, although the Adventurers Club is a little more "audience participation" and the Comedy Club is more of a show, but still, both are great.

Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar. Fun as well, but a completely different experience.
