I've been told that this is THE place to go when at Pleasure Island. DW and I will be in the vicinity next week - without the kids - and are looking for something a little different to do. We've never taken in PI (yeah, kids) so we don't know what to expect. We're not big drinkers but we love to have fun. Is this the place for us?

Is there another place any of you would recommend over Adventurers Club?

Any tips to get the most out of our visit?

Thanks in advance.

AWTY! :rolleyes1

The Adventurer's Club is great if you're going to go to PI, so is the Comedy Warehouse. I also enjoy the Beach Club, I think it's called, at the other end of PI, which has live bands.

Another great place to go at night is Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk. They're a dueling piano bar that takes requests all night long, and are VERY entertaining.

DH and I love the Adventurer's Club. We have also enjoyed the Comedy Warehouse, but I have just found the humor to be a little more consistent at the AC.

After reading crcormier's Christmas solo TR, I definitely want to try Jellyrolls in October.

Have a great time!

We enjoyed both the AC and CC. We also like the House of Blues. Thought the food and atmosphere were good.

AC is so much fun! (and so are the Kungalooshes! ;) ) If you go, be sure to stick around for a while. Sometimes when you first show up, it seems like there's nobody there and nothing is going on, but if you hang out 15 minutes or so, a show will be starting. The shows get better as the night goes on. Don't miss the New Member Induction ceremony!

Comedy Warehouse is fun, too! Beach Club is fun when there's a live band, and 8 Trax is a blast, especially on 80s night. Usually after a short time of "getting our groove on", we're ready to head back to the AC, though!

We have found Comedy Warehouse to be hit or miss but we absolutely LOVE Adventurer's Club and Jellyrolls. If you are up for a drink the Kongaloosh is the way to go. That being said we have not been to PI since the open gate policy was started. It is my understanding that this has hindered the PI experience for many visitors.

The AC is the reason we bought APs to WDW and PI. :)

We love it and go pretty much every night for a Kungaloosh. :)

Went to AC last December for the first time! We (a group from another board) were there from opening until after fireworks (I left immediately after the fireworks--arrived that day and was ready to crash). Love it!

Pop culture tends to zip past me, so most comedy formats are over my head. AC sets its own stage and draws the visitor in, rather than pelting guests with one-liners.

I'm not much for clubs--the sound systems are too loud for me, so I'm useless for other venues. :confused3

KUNGALOOSH and keep on marching singing the song of Adventurers!

The Adventurers Club is absolutely the best. You could spend the night there and see a variety of different shows. My DH and I never miss it and usually go back at least one to two other evenings. The Comedy Club is fun but after the show you have to exit and get in line for another one. Adventurers Club you go in and just go from show to show. It's a stitch. On our last trip, we hit the Comedy Club first for a show and then went over and hung out at AC. Kungaloosh!!

Dopey, it's been a LONG time since Emil wore that suit. You need to go back.

That was June 2001. Emil had us in stitches

We just havent had any photos of Emil since. We think he was the BEST Emil ever. What a character!

This is from 2003 but he is still there, and still funny.

I am an admitted Adventurer's Club-aholic and proud of it. I can't miss a ngiht of it when I'm a WDW and it's my number one reason to go.
It's got a fun, baudy, vaudevllian style of humor and you never know exactly what can happen.
If you're extra lucky, Emil will sing "I'm your mailman."

Thanks so much for posting the picture TDC Nala. He looks so different without his cow! We hope he is there in December. I'm thinking of enlarging his picture with the cow and bringing it with us. He left us with so many wonderful memories.

Is there anyplace else to go at PI?! :teeth:

Seriously...If you couldn't tell yet, this is THE place to go at PI. And not to worry about the drinking...you will have a blast there without the alcohol. Plenty to see (or should I say, plenty to see you :bitelip: ) and do to keep the fun going all night.

That particular performer also does a heck of an Otis. The Balderdash cup with him as the lead never fails to knock me off my barstool...

Sooo, what exactly IS a Kungaloosh? We've never been to PI, but are planning to go in January when we bring the babysitters --er, I mean grandparents -- with us. The AC sounds really fun -- we're not big "clubbers" but do like to go out for a few drinks at a fun place.
