Adventurer's Club?

Hey everyone! This is my first post here in the wedding area of DIS and I have a question... I'm going to get engaged within the next 3 months and DBF and I have already decided on a disney wedding.. AND we LOVE LOVE LOVE the adventurer's club... I've been playing around online on the disney wedding website and I noticed that one of the places to have a gathering (I'm guessing for like a rehersal get together or something like that ) is at the adventurers club.. does anyone know ANYTHING about this? I would totally love ANY info you can offer... oh.. and be on the lookout for my PJ once we get engaged! Can't wait to "meet" you all!

Welcome! I know of at least one bride who had her reception at the Adventurer's Club - it sounds like it was a blast! She even had some of the actors at the reception.

Here's Disney's info on the venue:

The Adventurers Club
Enjoy a wacky evening at the Adventurers Club at Pleasure Island with a cast of zany characters, set in a 1930's explorers club. The main salon accommodates 50 to 200 guests with a food & beverage minimum of $500++ before 5:00pm and $5,000++ after 5:00pm. The food and beverage per person minimum for this venue is $45. All events must end by 9:00pm. Plated dinners can accommodate up to 50 guests, reception style is up to 200. All of your guests can then continue the party at Pleasure Island with free admission!

The Adventurers Club -- The Schmooze Package
An interactive comedy with a cast of zany characters set in a 1930's explorers club. You're right in the middle of the fun as the show happens all around you! Chat with a talking mask, wonder at the floating genie ahead, and be sworn in (somewhat irreverently) as a new Club Member in the Main Salon.

Actors will enter one by one, every 10 to 15 minutes, starting at the beginning of the event. Schmoozing is performed best in the Club Salon where the following can be experienced:


Babylonia
The Colonel Critchlow Suchbench
The Yakoose
The Mask Room
The Treasure Room


The cast that will be interacting with your group includes:
Pamelia Perkins, the Club President
Otis T. Wren, the Club Treasurer and Ichthyologist (Fisherman)
Hathaway Brown, the Club Aviator

* The cost of the above package will total $1,800
* Actors will vary depending on availability.

NOTE: Please provide guest profiles so that the Cast may customize the show accordingly.

We were the first to have a wedding reception there (or so they told us!) Usually its just conventioneers I think.

We LOVE the Adventurer's Club. It is HILARIOUS. Plus we have always wanted to have an Indiana Jones themed wedding -- so it was perfect!

(Andy changed out of his Temple Of Doom tuxedo into Indy gear in the limo ride from Epcot/Japan to Pleasure Island)

And we wanted to have THE MOST FUN WEDDING any of our guests had EVER been to. And by their reaction, I would say we succeeded! Everyone had an absolute BLAST.

I'll take 8 whacky disney actors over a DJ any day...

It all started with Babylonia (The big Mask on the wall) announcing our entrance...

then she made some of the (male) guests perform for moi...

and then worship her...

everyone learned the Adventurer's Club creed and was sworn in as an honorary member of course...

there were tall tales and gently racy jokes in the mask room...

at one point we cut our cake...

we danced to Gonzo's song "There's not a word yet, for old friends who've just met"...

we brought our own hats...

in the library...

we all had to go along with the slug song...

my brand new brother in law got up onstage to give the toast and say the prayer and the first words out of his mouth were "where ARE we?!"

the actors were hilarious!

to me this next photo sums up our reception perfectly...

everyone had SO MUCH FUN

we would do it all again and wouldn't change a thing!!!

PS. Ladysunflr, if you have your wedding at the Adventurer's Club, I hope you invite me and DH! Grin

If DH and I are ever able to renew our vows, this is what we want too! We discovered the Adventurer's Club on our honeymoon and LOVED it! We make it a point to hit AC at least once, if not twice, when we are at Pleasure Island!! Absolutely my favorite place on Disney property! I'm amazed at how reasonable the prices are for an event there...

Congratulations on your upcoming engagement! We're actually having a brunch reception at the Adventurer's Club in May from 10 AM - 1:30 PM. It costs 550 to rent it out. You can also do a Schmooze and Library Show Package which is what we're doing. It costs a little more but we knew we absolutely had to have a Library show! We're having the Tinkerbell's Brunch Buffet which is a really good deal for all the food you get. If you have any more questions then feel free to PM me! I'll also get some pics up after my wedding and honeymoon

OH MY GOSH.. these pictures are AWESOME and JUST like I imagined it to be... Funny that before I read that I kept saying to myself that you looked so familliar! Hmm.. I wonder.

It looks like you had so much fun! I can't wait to show these pictures to DBF... Were you able to pick whom you wanted as the actors? For example... we have our "favorite" Emil Bleehall and Hathaway Brown... We get upset when other actors play them. LOL.

I love all these pictures!!!! the adventurers club was one of our favorite things all vacation!!!! I cant believe you can have your reception there! Good luck with everything!!! We are planning a may 2009 wedding but just eloping so maybe we could still come afterwords just for fun. HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!

For example... we have our "favorite" Emil Bleehall and Hathaway Brown... We get upset when other actors play them. LOL.

My wedding planner said we could not guarantee certain actors would be working that day but i begged and begged and BEGGED for the red haired actor to be there (I didn't know his name) because he is HILARIOUS and OUR FAVORITE!!!!

do you have a snap of him? I would love to see! I have a rather huge crush on Hathaway. He's so darn DASHING! Our maid (who has been other characters when i've been to AC club) iS SO FUNNY!!! her improv skills can't be beat. She was HILARIOUS!!!

The Adventurer's Club is SO GENIUS. I hope Disney never closes it down!!! It's the only truly Walt worthy thing on Pleasure Island!
