We are going down in a month and considering leaving the kids at the hotel one night and wife and I doing some DTD stuff. We love comedy but hate foul language. I don't mind some slightly off color stuff but don't like to hear F this and Ah*l* that all night. What can we expect in the AC and CW if we choose to do this?

There will be no foul language at all. People do bring kids in occasionally and it's Disney, so they are careful about language. There's a little inuendo that adults will understand and the shows are certainly intended for adults but I think you'll enjoy those clubs very much. They're our favorites.

The Adventurers Club is one of my all time favorite things!! A total blast!! Took my DH there on our honeymoon, and at that time he was doing the stand-up/acting bit, so he played along so well with the 'adventurers' there! That is the one place that we visit on everytrip! This time we too will be leaving DD with either the Disney people/babysitter, or hopefully my MIL so we can have a fun adults night too!!

We did both this past Oct with our 15 yr old DD. The only problem we encountered was at CW there was a man there who had obviously been drinking since breakfast and was being very obnoxious and was eventually escorted out.

Our DD really enjoyed AC, we were there till about 10 ish, I heard it gets 'more' adult the later in the evening.

Would Adventurer's Club be fun for less outgoing people? I'm not sure we'll have the energy for an additional late night on our trip, but AC sounds like so much fun!

Does anyone know what the "cover" charge is? We don't have the plus option on our passes.

Thanks!

I do not know the cover charge but as far as less outgoing people I would say yes, you will have a good time.

AC would definatly be fun for less outgoing people!! It is great just to sit back and watch all the entertainment...

Yes, if you're not outgoing, sit in the back at both clubs. At the Comedy Club, don't sit near one of the phones on the wall, sit towards the aisle instead. If you sit by one of the phones, they might call your phone and ask you questions -- you'll become part of the show! (It's actually very fun - that happened to us last month.)

And later the same night . . .

At AC, don't sit in the front if you want to blend in with the crowd! We sat in the front last month and I got pulled up on stage to be part of their radio play! It was hilarious - I got to pay Inga, the Swedish fiance of one of the adventurers. I had a moment of panic/stage fright but then decided to go with the flow and have fun. It's one of my best memories from any WDW trip ever! Really, really fun.

Pleasure Island admission is $23.38 (including tax).

You must have a multi-club ticket to visit the comedy clubs. There is a one-club ticket sold, but it is good only at the dance clubs.

AC sometimes has "free time" early in the evening, usually between 7 and 9. After 9 they will require admission.

Profanity isn't used in either club (at least, not by the cast, they can't control what the guests say).

We always go to the AC at least once each trip. As others have said, it is for the adults but the adult themes are innuendo and not explicit language.

I wouldn't necessarily agree with what people have said about it being the people seated in the front who get selected as participants. When we were there in May I got selected twice in the same night (by different CMs). The first time I was selected I was in the front but after that I moved back into the middle of the crowd for the next show in the Library and got selected again (much to DW's amusement). :rotfl2:

Shameless Plug: If you want to read the full story of what happened please feel free to check out our May TR :thumbsup2

It's PG-13 at most in both clubs without being dull or saccharine. I get turned off when foul language and dirty jokes substitute for clever humor, and Disney proves that it's not necessary.

I have noticed that the cast usually does a good job of picking the people that dont mind being part of the show and play along. I have seen a few instances where they have tried to include someone that was less than thrilled, and they backed off imediately and moved on to someone else.

The CW was mildly entertaining when we were there but we always do the AC. I love it and think it is absolutely histerical. I just wish it wasnt so expensive between the $20 ticket and the $5 beer I am not sure what is worse. It is still an experience I cant get anywhere else though.

What about an 83 and 84 year old? Both ladies - they have a plus option to use - should I direct them that way? They won't want to be out super late, but do enjoy a glass of wine. Will use all Disney transportation and both use canes to support themselves - would there be a way and time where they could enjoy either one of these places? Which would be better?

I believe that AC would be better for them. AC is silly. :thumbsup2 Sometimes, there can be quite a cutting edge to the routines at CW. The content of the show is definetely kid friendly early in the evening. This is true for both AC and CW. And, yes, it does get a little raunchier for the last couple of shows each night. Nothing objectionable, just a little less subtle. After all, everyone is thinking a little slower by then. ;)

I wanted to go to AC so much last time we were down; had never done DTD... Our son was 8 at the time so we passed. I really want to go this time; since it sounds kid-friendly, I think he'd love it, too. I'm feeling the $$ pinch, though, as I'm reading this thread. It really costs over $20 even if I just want to visit one place???!!! What about an 11-year old??

I am not sure about the 11 year old but my hunch is he would require a pass as well, and yes the cost is over $20 per person, because you must buy a multi club pass even if you only intend to attent one club when it comes to CW and AC. I was a little shocked about it myself but for a few hours of live entertainment I have paid much higher.
