Advantage to getting an AP voucher?

Is there any advantage to getting an AP voucher before your trip? It doesn't seem like there is any price break so I was wondering if it's easier just to wait until you get to a park to buy one.

If you buy one at the park, do you get it at the Guest Services window or do you have to wait in the ticket line?

We would appreciate any insight from the experienced DISers with APs.
:D

The only advantage is if you buy the voucher and then the AP ticket price increases, you will have avoided the extra few dollars.

Ditto. You have to wait in line to turn it in anyway, so it doesn't even save you time like buying regular PH's ahead of time does.

I bought mine beforehand just because it was one less large expense to worry about paying for. I knew I was just going to put it on my debit card, but it just made me feel better to get the expense paid before I left. However, there are no discounts or other benefits with buying it in voucher form or just waiting until you get to the gate.

I agree with the above. I can think of no other benefits than having the price locked in & the expense paid off ahead of time.
As far as activating an AP - this past trip, we stopped at Guest Services in DTD - much faster by far than any Park I ever got my AP at.

I currently have an AP, but I'm letting it expire in December and will buy new ones for our trip in June 05. We drive to the parks. If I have a voucher before we go, will I still be charged for parking until I activate it at the gates or should I get them activated at DTD? BTW, where in DTD is Guest Services?

there were three of last on the last trip getting AP's. Since we arrived at 2pm we decided to go to DTD first before going to the resort. While there we decided to get the AP set up, since we were going to go to Illuminations that night. it only took 5 minutes to set up two new APs and one renewal. It takes more than that time once you get to the ticket window at any of the parks.
so to answer you question: get the AP set up at Guest Services DTD.
As to buying it sooner: at least you have it in your pocket.

The official policy is that the Annual Pass gets the free parking perk, not the voucher. So the CM would be correct in charging you the parking fee. Some CM's will wave you through without charging you but be prepared if you are not. In the event you have to pay, just bring the parking receipt with you to the Guest Relations window and they will reimburse you for the parking fee.

The Guest Relations offices at DTD are located in the Marketplace and in West Side.

The Marketplace location is between the Once Upon A Toy shop and the Summer Sands shop on the Rainforest Cafe end of the Marketplace. This is an actual office that you walk into. It is set in the back side of the Summer Sands building directly in front of the restrooms.

The West Side location is at the Pleasure Island end, just past the AMC Theaters. Walk straight down with PI on your right and AMC Theaters on your left and you will see it right in front of you. It is a white building that says "information" on it. This is a Guest Relations window like the parks have.

can you still activate your AP voucher at the airport?

You can't activate an AP voucher at the airport. You CAN buy an already activated AP (not a voucher) there.

I have vouchers. Do I need to get in a particular line at the park or with tickets or guest service do? If the park opens at 9, what time does guest services open? Thanks.
