Hello,
If I want to purchase the UHP in advance, how does this work if we are renting the unit from a DVCer? On mousesavers it shows that purchasing in advance is worthwhile for saving money. But it goes on to say that you can only do it by phone with CRO or Disney.com, if they put your passes on your room key and/or existing reservation. Being that we are renting, will this still work? We have the confirmation number and paperwork from the family we are working with. Will they just apply it to that? Thanks for your help!

An interesting question that probably will have a complicated answer.

DVC members get a discount on UHP's. However, this discount does not apply if the member is not staying in the unit. Also, if cash is exchanged for use of a member's accomodations then technically the renter is not entitled to the same rights as the member. (This isn't usually enforced.)

There may be some way for you to purchase the UHP with the pre-purchase discount but I think it will require some investigation on the part of the person who is renting to you. They may be able to get some guidance from the DVC Member Service office.
