Hello all,

My apologies if this is a duplicate thread but I couldn't find another. . .I am looking to book a trip to Disney next March (3/2013) and am finding that every site blocks reservations before 12/31/12. Does anyone know of a calculator or time frame for when advanced reservations begin?

Also, is it wise to book as far in advance as possible or do deals tend to come up during certain seasons? I'm not thinking that we will want to do the dining plan and the group we will be going with gives great park ticket discounts. I think I'm mostly concerned with room rates and dining reservations.

I'm quite certain you can book your room right now. They start booking rooms at 500 days out -- and since you're not looking for a package, I say go for it. If you happen to get a discount in the meantime, they have no problem applying it to your reservation.

We're planning on going April 2013, but we're not booking yet as the packages for 2013 don't come out until late July/August.

You will not be able to book anything online for 2013 until the 2013 rates come out, usually in July/August (I think).

You can call them and make a reservation for 2013. They will quote you the highest category rack rate for 2012. In order to book it, you will have to pay a deposit of one night. Then when they release the rates for 2013 you call them back and they will adjust accordingly.

Even if you book now and a deal comes up later, in most cases you can call and adjust your reservation to include the deal.

It should be noted historically the rates are released in August, however last year it was done in late July.
