I want to expand my 4 day Easter trip to an 8 day trip using some SSR points at 7 months. I’ve booked 4/16-4/20 with BLT points and I want to make it 4/16-4/24 trip in the window. It’s a 1 bedroom Lake View, which common knowledge would say is more available than other room classes at BLT, in ordinary times. I’m going to fall back on SSR, but I really want BLT this trip since we already plan an SSR trip next time.

Do you think I should walk it? I understand the process, but never actually did it yet. I can’t think of any drawback to walking it (i.e. what’s there to lose if I attempt to walk it?), other than it may be unnecessary work.

Wow...I still have a month before I can do anything else!! I'm way too obsessed!!

I don't think it is necessary to walk it but there have been times where I did it anyway because of my schedule and it was easier to secure it a few days early. One thing that might be a good thing is that if you can get the 16th to the 20th with the SSR points, and then actually move the current trip made with BLT for the later dates. This allows you to get them earlier as those are BLT points.

Thanks. I have to be careful I don’t get too fancy with this though and end up borrowing more points on a interim reservation than I ultimately want to use. Also, I want to maximize bankable 2022 SSR points for a bigger SSR stay in 2023.

If your SSR points are in the same UY as your BLT points, I’ve found the easiest way to do this is to go in 7 months from your start date (of 4/16), and to simply modify your current res to change the end date (add on the last 4 nights & still use your SSR pts). It’s like walking… but without actually walking 😉😆
(In this case, I think walking is unnecessary work.)
