I read on the Resort Board that the Poly will be offering advanced check-in, up to 10 days in advance, as a "test run". Wasn't something similar offered at OKW many years ago, but then discontinued? Think this is sign that DVC may restart it? And for those who were DVC members when/if it was offered before, would you like to see it return?

yes OKW when it was DVC had it. I would hope so - but I doubt it.

Boy would I - I loved it!!!! :cool1:   :cheer2:  party: :jumping1: :rainbow:

I would love advanced check in!!! I hope after the trial period they will extend it to other resorts. Would we still have to wait in a long line to get our key? Also, when you check in online do they give you your room number? How do they make sure that guests aren't trying to get into their rooms before the room is ready?

If it works well at the Poly I would think that it would be expanded to all resorts, including DVC.

I would be interested to know more of the particulars.

well it use to work like this - you would call MS give them the information that you would at check in with your Cc number.

then you arrived at the resort - you did have to go wait with check in - but once the program got going - there was separate line for express check in - you just got your folder and left.

2 minutes and you were out the door and generally on your way to your room.

if your room was ready you could go then. I never once received a room that wasn't ready. but I think that was luck - but it might have been planning?

but as I say I don't know if DVC will do it again. They had it first.

now if your room wasn't ready - I don't know what would happen then.

It was pretty wonderful!!!!

One of the better extras that DVC member had - but not too long.

Isn't DVC on "room-ready" system...wherein when you arrive you are assigned whatever is available (hopefully w/in requests for NS, views, etc.)?

Was it ever determined if guests using ME are given priority, or it was just a theory floating around?

One final comment, I've been the victim of CC fraud twice in the last 10 months (both times during Disney related travel, using card that is reserved for vacation usage only - hope it's a coincidence). While I realize that CC # is retained for purposes of refunds/cancellations of accommodations; I was told by CM that, otherwise, Disney doesn't keep your CC # on file. I really don't think I'd want that info in an accessible data base based on our experience.:confused3

they don't anymore than when you check in. I think I got told it goes in the same place??? not sure it has been years.

you don't need to show your cc when you pick up your folder - only your ID.

I am so sorry that this happened to you. this is one thing I need to start checking more often. :goodvibes of course I hardly ever use my CC. I give it to Disney for express check out - but I hardly ever use it. Most of the time I don't use it.
