Hello! Haven't been to Disney in 3 years and am planning a vacation for June. Very happy to be back in the planning stages, but am starting to hyperventilate with all that could go wrong. For starters, I'm going to be a resort guest, but I don't plan on booking for another couple weeks cause my husband has to submit a request for time off, I have to verify the kids' last day of school, etc. But I just read that they changed the rules so that resort guests can make restaurant reservations 180 days in advance! Am I already hopelessly behind? If I wait until February, will I still be able to get a seat at restaurants? Specifically, we definitely want to go to Boma, the character dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern, and Mama Melrose. Will I still have a fighting chance for a decent time?

TIA!

There is always a chance! You won't know, unfortunately, until you try. Good luck! Hope you get some pixie dust!

Everyone, not just resort guests, can make ADRs as early as 6 months in advance. But I don't feel that all WDW guests utilize the system so I think you have a shot.

Go ahead and make your ADR's now. You can always cancel!

I hate that you're having to wait - resort spaces fill up fast for summer and you might not be able to get the rooms! Put the pressure on everyone so that you can get on with your plans - don't they all know a Disney vacation is on the line?????

Thanks, all! Somehow I got the idea that the 180 days in advance thing was just for resort guests, and figured I couldn't make reservations until I booked. Once y'all told me otherwise, I called right away and got 6:30 seats at Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, San Angel Inn, Boma, Mama Melrose (the Fantasmic package, no less!), and 1900 Park Fare. Now I'm VERY excited.

Should be booking at the beginning of February - vacation requests are usually approved once a month. Will the resorts really be sold out that fast?? Last time we went to the Fort Wilderness cabins and saved money on food by cooking - this time we're going with saving money on the room by booking the All Star Movies and getting the dining plan for the food.

Well, I guess I'll find out. I can always cancel the dining reservations if the hotel is all booked up.

Thanks again!
