Advance purchase vs Front Gate

Normally, I'm the type that likes to have as much "bought & paid for" before we venture out on our trips. Saves time & "out-of-pocket" expense during vacation. My original plans were to advance purchse our US 1 day/1 park tickets now...however; a wonderful person on these boards sent me a "Free CityWalk Party Pass w/purchase". On the coupon it states that US tickets have to be purchased at the Front Gate to get the freebie. I guess my question is this....is the free CityWalk pass worth waiting til Front Gate to purchase? We will be there 11/2 (Sun) between 9-10 am. Will long lines to purchase overshadow the CityWalk passes? Also...what exactly does the CityWalk pass get you? We are GM & GP (50ish), GD (8) & GS (6). Thanks for your help.

If you plan on going to ALL of the clubs and night life, then yes it would be worth it. Each club has a cover charge after 9 p.m. and that can add up quickly. But if you are not going to the night clubs or just going to one, then IMO, it is not worth it. But I am also the type that wants to have everything in hand before I get there.

Hope you have fun!

As always, Spidey.....your right on top of things!!! I was just reading thru your thread on "How often are you on these boards?" when my mail popped up!! AND THERE YOU ARE!!
LOL! So...what you're saying is that the CityWalk party pass is just for admission to the bars after 9 pm? Normally....DH & I would be "hopping" however, coming off a cruise and with 2 grandkids in tow.... it doesn't seem likely (darn!!!). Is there no charge for CityWalk before 9 pm? (I'm kinda expecting "crash & burn" hour about then for ALL of us!!

don't forget that the restaurants and movie theatre aren't affected by the CityWalk pass. You won't need it for those things, but it is necessary for the actual clubs.

Based on what you have said, I don't think the CityWalk pass will benefit you much...at least not during this trip ;) I prefer getting tickets early, especially with their electronic machines where you just scan your credit card and it prints out. Quick and painless, most of the time. :)
