According to Touringplans and Mouseplanet:

Details have not yet been finalized, but Disney will begin transitioning to a new reservation system sometime in the late summer or early fall. As a result, Disney will only be accepting Advance Dining Reservations up to 90 days in advance starting around August 1.

The reservation window starts growing again once the move to the new reservation system is underway, and Disney expects to be back to the full 180-day window sometime in the fall of 2009.

We're told that this does not affect any existing reservations. We've also heard (but not confirmed) that Cinderella's Castle, Chef Mickey's and Victoria and Albert's will still have 180-day windows.

That stinks, but thanks for the heads up.

Sounds like a good change to me, since it doesn't harm anybody. I often don't even book our trip until the 90 day mark so at least now I'll have a better shot at getting some of the more popular places.

I'm glad they're going back to 90 days. I have no idea where I want to eat 6 months ahead of time.

Sorry, I don't agree with your comment that it doesn't harm anybody. It harms everyone who is willing to plan in advance. People who are willing to book 180 days in advance get more choice than people who are not willing to do so.

From the sound of it, this is a moot discussion anyways, since this is a temporary change.

I guess the question becomes...Why did they change from 90 days to 180 days in the first place????

I like having the option of booking at 180 days...Although DH hates it...He feels that it is too hard to plan where you want to eat 6 months in advance...I like having it done and out of the way...But if we all have to it the same way I guess I will be fine with it...What choice do I have?!

Good! Maybe it will reduce the amount of no shows since more people will have their travel plans finalized by the 90 day mark. Too many people book "Just in Case" reservations and never cancel! I don't see how it harms people who plan their ADRs 180 days out. Just call right at the 90 day mark and i'm sure you'll get what you want.

I wish they would go to 90 days and stick with it!!! I like that much better.

this topic is being discussed on the rumor board Here is the link that discussion.

Once an announcement is official, discussion on the restaurant bpard is welcome
