I thought I would share my experience with booking advance DAS today. My son is autistic and always has a DAS at WDW. Pre-registration at DLR is offered from 9 AM to 8 PM PST. You do need to make sure you’re logged in and have accepted the terms and conditions before proceeding.
I logged in at 9:00 AM PST
I did the quick pre question and was sent to wait for a cast member at 9:09 PST
From there I kind of lost my timestamps it took about less than 12 minutes for me to be connected to a cast member who then struggled to connect my tickets (this would be a running theme- I think it’s because I’m on a package). Eventually they were able to connect and find my tickets. Then they tried to initiate video chat where they couldn't hear me but they did try multiple attempts until they were able to get it to work.
For the video chat, the cast member spoke to me first and then video chatted with my son for just a moment (he does not really talk to strangers much). They mostly took his picture and then asked me several questions about his behavior concerns about his behavior (a lot more in depth than what we had been given prior when getting his DAS where basically I said the word autism and I was given one right away). This felt more like they were really making sure his needs matched.
There were a lot of technical issues which is during this process which involves multiple calls back. However, the cast member was absolutely amazing.
I was then directed to another cast member for another video chat to set up the DAS return times. This took a little bit of doing because they could not connect my tickets again. And there was more technical glitches multiple video calls etc. However, it did all work out in the end- times were given and the whole process took about an hour and a half.
Every cast member I dealt with went above and beyond to make sure I stayed connected even through technical glitches including reconnecting me multiple times when they lost connections and really working through any issues they found (tickets not linking correctly).
The whole thing was a little bit stressful. However I’m really grateful for the cast members I had and the way they helped. Also super excited for our trip coming up! I hope this helps others.
