I thought I would share my experience with booking advance DAS today. My son is autistic and always has a DAS at WDW. Pre-registration at DLR is offered from 9 AM to 8 PM PST. You do need to make sure you’re logged in and have accepted the terms and conditions before proceeding.

I logged in at 9:00 AM PST
I did the quick pre question and was sent to wait for a cast member at 9:09 PST

From there I kind of lost my timestamps it took about less than 12 minutes for me to be connected to a cast member who then struggled to connect my tickets (this would be a running theme- I think it’s because I’m on a package). Eventually they were able to connect and find my tickets. Then they tried to initiate video chat where they couldn't hear me but they did try multiple attempts until they were able to get it to work.

For the video chat, the cast member spoke to me first and then video chatted with my son for just a moment (he does not really talk to strangers much). They mostly took his picture and then asked me several questions about his behavior concerns about his behavior (a lot more in depth than what we had been given prior when getting his DAS where basically I said the word autism and I was given one right away). This felt more like they were really making sure his needs matched.

There were a lot of technical issues which is during this process which involves multiple calls back. However, the cast member was absolutely amazing.

I was then directed to another cast member for another video chat to set up the DAS return times. This took a little bit of doing because they could not connect my tickets again. And there was more technical glitches multiple video calls etc. However, it did all work out in the end- times were given and the whole process took about an hour and a half.

Every cast member I dealt with went above and beyond to make sure I stayed connected even through technical glitches including reconnecting me multiple times when they lost connections and really working through any issues they found (tickets not linking correctly).

The whole thing was a little bit stressful. However I’m really grateful for the cast members I had and the way they helped. Also super excited for our trip coming up! I hope this helps others.

On our last trip in Nov when we got one in person at DL it took no more than 3 minutes. They honestly didn't even ask us why we needed it. They just said yup, here you go. (It was for my autistic daughter) Maybe I'll give them a while to iron out the kinks before trying to do it online. Thaks for the report! I'm very excited to be able to get return times from my phone. I absolutely hate where they've moved all the kiosks to in the park!

Have so much fun on your trip. I'd love to hear how it goes making the return times yourself on your phone!

Thanks for sharing your experience. This was for DLR not WDW? I didn't realize they had started doing the advance DAS video chats at Disneyland. How far out can you book them?

Taking a trip Dec 19-22. Going with my sister who recently developed an odd case of type 1 diabetes. From what she describes to me her sugar level can spike or dive from a variety of environmental factors so I’m thinking of getting DAS for us.

My question is this. Is there a difference between doing the Advance DAS video chat vs the in person DAS registration on sight? I know there’s the two advance DAS selections you can make ahead of time. Are those for specific attractions? As in the only way to get a DAS return for those attractions is advance video chat? Or can I just register in person when we get there and have access to the same attractions. My sister isn’t familiar with DL so I figured it would be easier to help her register in person.

Thanks in advance!

I'm glad it went so well for you! It seems like it was a disaster when it rolled out at WDW. We will be trying to advance register tomorrow. I'm glad its an option now because if they deny my daughter, we probably won't go. We were going to take the risk getting it at the parks.

Just going by the WDW one. There wasn’t a difference between the in person and video chat other than using a computer and the wait time to get on took longer. Once I got on with a person it went fast. Faster than it did at GR. But getting on was the initial issue.

Also this list has all the advanced selection rides:
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/guests-with-disabilities/attractions-available-for-das-advance/
Also keep in mind with Advanced selection the slots are specifically timed or were with WDW.

The longest part was trying to advance book the ride (took three hours! Which is abnormal from what I can tell)

Can you explain how to book an appt to do the advance DAS? Where are you doing this, on the app, on the phone, on zoom? Sorry, I'm confused and didn't see it anywhere on the above posts. Thanks!

It's on Disneyland.com. log into your account and then you can just search DAS. That took me to the page explaining the DAS and had a link to the advanced registration. There will be a box that says "live chat now", click on that and a chat will open up.
