Advance bookings - Do I need a deposit?

Over the next few month I'll be trying to get some advance bookings on various tours/dining reservations/cruises etc etc. When I make these bookings, do I need to place a deposit? I only ask as I don't yet have a credit card and I'll be ringing from the UK, so it's not like I can whack it on a Switch card.

If I don't need a deposit, how/when do I pay?

TIA,

Benn

You will probably need a CC as we had to pay for our tour at WDW when I booked it. Also some dinner reservations require a cc for security.

Try to get one of the cards that doesn't charge for currency transactions such as Nationwides - saves a few ££s.

for those that require a card number in case of cancellation for deposit rather than an actual payment we have had no problem using a visa electron card, i think they just treat it as a visa card. Gill
