Getting ready to go nxt month with my mom for the first time in may, My mom will have a wheelchair and we probably wont do a ton of rides. Our last trip in october was pretty much the same but we had a blast. I've found I love getting pictures with the characrters. I thought for fun this year I might get a autograph book and get signitures too. Do alot of other adults do this without kids and I wonder how the characters react to it.I'll try to catch all the shows and maybe the parade. I do also have a reservation at story tellers for breakfast which will have characters there.

Do it! I love seeing characters interact with kids, adults, grandparents, babies and autographs are a perfect inexpensive way to remember your trip!

I think im gonna do it, Is it best to get one of those autograph books that they sell down there?

One of my favorite times on the Disney Cruises or at Disneyland is taunting Captain Hook with Tick Tock, Tick Tock. He always tries to shoe me away. My son thinks it is so funny. On our Wonder cruise Captain Hook tried to get Smee to throw me overboard... LOL

I get autographs all the time. It's a highlight for me. I like to use clicker sharpies as they're easier to quickly seal off from getting ink places it shouldn't.

I don't do autograph books, though. I do things like cook books, storybooks, prints, photo mats, etc. Some things are for me, some for others as gifts. I always love when the characters have the time to doodle a little extra too (Spiderman had quite a bit of fun giving me a couple of extra webs). I know others do things like pillow cases, postcards, etc :)

I'm still sad I hadn't started this when I saw White Rabbit years ago. He was one that I regret not getting as he made my 30th birthday at the parks so special.

I think, though, sometimes a friend of his is friends with other characters and still recognizes me (a few characters get suspiciously extra excited when they see me... or rather when they see my panda Peking).

We've found that the more enthusiastic and interactive we are with the characters, the more interactive they are with us. And if there is a PP CM there, they go nuts for it! You'll get the best shots! We try to comment on something directly related to the character we're meeting to get the action going or, if we're in costume or Disney Bounding, the character will usually start things off. When we met King John, DH didn't really know what to do (he hasn't seen "Robin Hood" yet), so I started a fake rant about how King John's float (the BEST float, of course!) was missing from the MSEP and we all had a group pout, sucking our thumbs together. Great photos! So much fun and such good memories!
We like larger autograph books -- from Michael's, for example -- that have better paper and stronger binding. Then we can have autographs on one page and put the photos (usually there are 2 or 3) on the other side.

You should! However, I would bring one from home or outside of the park. The ones in the park can get overpriced and the same notebook is sold at one of the convenience stores for cheaper.

The one we brought was from Target when they had a whole bunch of Mickey Mouse stuff. We got a Minnie and Mickey notebook there.

I like to visit with the characters and get pictures, but I don't care about autographs. What would I do with them? But anything that adds to your enjoyment like that is worth doing :)

(note: I would feel a bit funny getting autographs since a lot of the characters are my dd's friends)

I have back issues and can't do a lot of the rides, so while my kids/DH are on attractions, I get pictures with the characters! I see tons of adults with no kids meeting the characters :)

It is your vacation, if you want to get autographs then get them! It doesn’t matter what other people do, as long as you aren’t interfering with or hurting anyone then you spend your time at the happiest place on earth doing things that make you happy! Have fun!

Our DD is 17 now so I think I am more excited about seeing new characters than she is, and I'm pretty sure I'll be bringing an autograph book to DL too since we haven't been for 11 years! (We're usually WDW visitors).

Good to know that lots of people do it not just kids, Probably good to do after getting the pictures, I hope there are photopass photograpehers there

If you don't see a PP CM or any CM at the scene before your turn, make friends with the guests around you in line -- we usually agree to trade taking photos with the people behind us. And by doing this ahead of our turn, we have time to make sure everyone knows how to use the other person's camera/phone.

We always do autographs (adults only) and had a lot of fun with characters. For me this is one of the best aspects at Disney vacations, everyone can be a child again and have fun. I have autographs from my first trip over 20 years ago and I remember all situations. Love looking at them, so go and get your book filled.
