Hi All,

Do any of you travel as adults only and do character meals? We plan to be in Disney for 11 days on our next trip and we are considering 2 meals that have characters. The first is Tusker House and the 2nd is Liberty Tree Tavern. The reason for dining there is really about the food, not to much the characters.

Of course, this means we do not take up too much character time. A few pictures, no autograhs and we are done. ;)

Only on one other occassion have I seen a table of adults only dining at a character meal. Truthfully, I never take notice though. We are in Disney, so I don't care what other people do.

Honestly, we will do it either way :) - but I am simply curious if I am one of the few (or only) adults interested in character meals without my kiddo. :flower3:

I would say go for it... you paid your admission and are just as entitled to eat at those restuarants then anyone else who has kids...

I have not been to Disney without my son.. but I know that if that ever happen we would definitely do some charchter meals - crystal Palace being one of them!!!

Have fun!!!

I've done it many times. I've done the breakfast at Cinderella's Round Table, the Pocahontas breakfast that they used to have at the Wilderness Lodge, Crystal Palace and the Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.

Love Chef Mic's would do it with or with out kids. Do it and have fun :)

I totally booked a Princess lunch in Norway for mom and I (I being 30) specifically because it was a character meal! I want to meet the princesses, but I'm surely not waiting in line for them, so this is perfect. I am also interested in trying out some of the Norwegian cuisine, making this a great fit.

I am planning on wearing my wedding tiara and being just as giddy as the 4 year olds! (Poor Mom...) princess:

We like character meals and we did them on our 1st two trips prior to the birth of our son. Trust me, you will not be the only ones there without kids - but it doesn't even really matter because most people won't even notice & if they do, so what? Once we step foot on WDW property, don't we all just become kids anyway? So yes, do some character meals & enjoy yourself - no reason to worry.

I did a bridal brunch at CRT with mom and my MOH. DH and I also went to Chef Mickey's during our honeymoon. We are heading back for an anniversary trip and have an ADR for Ohana's breakfast. (And we are going to Ohana for both the food and the characters.:stitch: )

DH and I do character meals all the time, we have a blast!

Go for it!!! We do it all the time adn sometimes we get better interaction then the kids do.

Have fun!!

Okay - so it is VERY obvious that I am not the only one. :teeth: I would do it anyway, but I was concerned people would look at us like we are wonky and then we would feel out of sorts. I would not care how people look at me, but my sister might start a fight. :rotfl: Just kidding. :)

We definetly do! DH and I were both a little concerned on our first trip together (mine as an adult) his first trip all together. We decided to book a few (LTT, 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace) and we loved it.

The only thing about Disney - Everyone is a kid. I think that's why we love it so much!

We do breakfast at the Crystal Palace every year as two adults--50 and 55...but forever young at heart. There is no way I'm missing seeing Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore. Last year we also did the princess lunch at Norway (although I could have done without this one...DH wanted to try the food). We've also done Chef Mickey's alone. This year we are doing Crystal Palace as well as Capfe May Cafe with Minnie, Chip and Dale and Goofy. And our best friends are coming with us. We'll have cameras ready!

We almost do character dining exclusively. It is just as much fun for the big kids. p.s.-that is what mulan called me once and she seemed disapointed?

For our honeymoon we have ADRs for CP, CRT, and CM for breakfast. We don't have any dinner characters ADRs.

Myself, DH, DS 25 and DS 21 we're doing:
Cape May b'fast,Crystal Palace b'fast,Tusker House b'fast, Liberty Tree dinner and 1900 Park Fare dinner.
I'd rather eat with "the stars" than have to line up to meet them.:)

DH and I are child-free and have done several character meals. We don't need a lot of character interaction, but the photo ops with the characters are great. And we don't have to wait in a long line for the character meet and greets around the park just to have a photo taken. Plus, the food is usually good!

I highly recommend character dining restaurants fro you and your partner.

WooHoo:banana: DH and I (no kids)are booked for the character breakfast at OHana at the Poly! My first character breakfast and I'm not telling you how old Iam. I can't wait:)

We've done Cape May Cafe for Breakfast (Admiral Goofy) and Chef Mickey's (many different variations) almost every trip, and Empress Lily breakfast once. If you look at my sig, EVERY one of those trips was without kids.

We had a fantastic time once at the Contemporary Cafe/Chef Mickey's. It was so empty that the characters didn't have enough people to visit during each "shift", and we were near the door that they came in and out of. Brer' Fox came by, went around the restaurant and came by again. We asked "not enough people?" he nodded yes so we said sit down. He did and we engaged in a long sign language type conversation, where we found out that they were required to be out there a certain amount of time, even if the people were tired of seeing them (yes, it used to be that empty!). We told him to pass along the word that the characters were welcome to sit at our table. So we spent about 10-15 minutes with each character sitting with us at our dinner table. Probably the most fun we've ever had.

That's the best part of WDW for us - losing any inhibition about acting "goofy" and having some incredibly unique experiences.

I love going to character breakfasts! It's part of the fun of going to WDW I think.
My sister is now 19 and my family has continued to go to character meals- our favorite is the Crystal Palace- I love the Pooh characters- long since she was little.

DFi and I went there last year just the 2 of us and this morning I booked it again for our honeymoon in December!

for my last trip, I took an Adults only trip with a member of my family. It was her 1st trip and I wanted her to experience them, so I booked Chef Mickey's and Garden Grill, we had a lot of fun, and it was nice to do both without the kids. The characters treated us just like everyone else. I would totally do it again:thumbsup2
