Adults at kids prices anytime soon?

We purchased a bunch of Disney gift cards when a local store had them 20% off last month. We are using them to purchase our tickets for our February trip. Does Disney put them on sale typically in January ever? I know they are never heavily discounted, but maybe adults at kids prices? I don't want to wait too long, because they usually do a price increase around February. Get away today has been running the discount but we have to book through Disney to use our gift cards.

At DLR, I don't think they have ever had that promotion. The promotions they have been doing is during January to May, where you can get a 3-day pass, one park per day for $100-150 (slowly the price keeps raising).

They used to run that promotion around that time, but I have not seen it in years. (Ever since the economy started to turn around.)

And you need to be a Southern California resident to take advantage of that ticket discount deal.

I’ve never heard of that sort of promotion.

Me either.

I have never heard of this promotion

They do have that promo but it is only thru travel agents/discount ticket sellers (eg park savers). It is that group’s deal, not Disney’s deal. So for OP, you would need to get it thru them and you are correct that you wouldn’t be able to use your gift cards.

Most ticket discounts are just for SoCal residents and they will check ID/address when you go to use the ticket.
The kids price isn't that much better anyway is it?

If anything, you’d probably save $20ish. But that is usually only for multi-day tickets, so using the gift cards will give you a better “discount” than going with one of those deals. You can check other deals, maybe wait until after SoCal deal is announced (so early January) to see if any discount ticket sellers have anything that would be worth it to you.

With the parks as busy as they are year round, they don't need to do any promotions to get people in the parks. In fact I would go as far as to say they SHOULDN'T do any type of discounts on entry.

Just got my 5 day passes $350 instead of $400 at last minute travel .com

If you click on their site they’ll try to get you to buy a membership. Declined then click through more and they’ll try to get you to pay $5 or something low. I also declined. Then it said free for a year!

ARes Travel has the "Adults for the price of kids" promotion going on right now on 3 and 4 day PH tickets. Have to purchase by Sunday (12/31), and they're good until 12/31/18.

As others have said, I believe that is a reseller only promotion.

Thanks for all the feedback! We usually always buy through 3rd party/travel companies so I didn't realize it was an unheard of deal directly through Disney. I will go ahead and just purchase now then to make sure they don't sneak a price increase on me before I get them. Thanks!

I think Disney has done the kids price for adult at WDW. They also do the kids stay and play for free.

$350 or $300? I just double checked and prices at lmtc are $300 for 5 day PH.
