Adults at HISTK Playground?

Here's a random question...

I'm in my 20s and don't have kids, so when I go to MGM, I've always just gone right past the HISTK playground without a second glance.

But in a couple of months I'm going back with a friend (also in his 20s) who's never seen WDW. He still has fond memories of seeing the HISTK playground on TV when he was a kid, and has always wanted to see it in person.

So here's my question: Do adults ever go on the playground, or is it something that would earn us lots of dirty looks? He realizes it's not an attraction designed for the older crowd, but if we could get away with a quick slide or just a little sightseeing, I think it would make his trip for nostalgia's sake.

Since I've never been, I didn't know if it was limited to kids or what. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks! :)

Hi, P.B....

I am 24 and I ALWAYS enjoy playing at the HISTK playground!! I think it's an absolute blast. No one has ever given me strange looks either...I think they all assume I'm with a child somewhere. Truth is, my husband and I don't have children. :)

Same here, although we don't have children my wife and I have stopped of there before now.

You don't really look out of place, just as long as you don't start throwing kids over your shoulder to climb on the Tonka truck :earboy2:

When we were there (easter), it was, of course, very busy. We ended up trying TWICE to let our kids play at the playground, but there were many many very big, very old kids (mostly older teens) playing quite roughly and carelessly. After my dd got hurt when I teen running from another teen tried to jump over her on the leaf slide, we pulled our kids and left. The second time, I saw a TON of 12 yr old or so kids shoving and pushing each other, and they knocked a little preschool aged kid right off the steps up the slide. We looked around for parents or someone to say something, because they were really really rough-housing and had actually HURT someone. Nobody saud anything to them. Dont know if they had parents around or not. Anyway, we turned our kids around and left. To this day, they are determined to get to play in that playground.

I guess this was my wordy way of warning that the playground can get quite crowded sometimes, so if you do choose to play there, be careful that you don't get mowed over, and be careful that you don't fall against a little kid. Have fun...I don't think anyone would realize you are there with no kids. Heck, if you go there when we are there, you can borrow a couple of mine. :rotfl2:

Honey I Shrunk The Kids playground. Your at WDW, nobody will give you a second glance. But, I would stop early in the day or as late as possible as that playground gets REALLY HOT. I'm talking nasty hot.
