Me and my DH (both 26) will be at the World (no kids for us yet) and I want my picture taken with Characters!!! Please reassure me that they are used to adults being just as excited to see them as the kids are! My past 2 trips I have only gotten one picture with characters and this time I have character meals planned!! I tend to be quite shy  so I think I just need a little encouragement!! This post may seem silly, but it is a concern of mine!!! :goodvibes

hi  my fiance and i who are 23 and 27 respectively feel a bit like that too.i am always really excited to see the characters but i tend to hold back a bit because i feel a bit silly.
we are also planning character meals on our next trip and i have the same concerns as you.
anyone help us?

If you are doing a character meal the characters will come around to your table. They will be more than happy to have their picture taken with you. Dh and I have more pictures taken with characters than anything else. Don’t feel silly wanting you picture taken with a character as there are just about as many adults getting pictures taken with characters, as there are children. After all going to Disney is makes us all feel like a kid again.

I think a lot of the performers enjoy interacting with adults. They might flirt or pretend to fight - things not appropriate with kids. Have fun and play along.

I have only been to WDW with adults (aged between 35-65!) and we all love the characters!

We have never felt odd or out of place at a character meal (and we go to several a trip) and we are always welcomed by the characters when we want photos taken.

Go and have a wonderful time with all Disney has to offer....it's for children of ALL AGES!

Have a great time. :wizard:

Have a ball with it!!! Run to them, give them a big hug, tell them they are your favorite!!! The characters love this!! I always get my picture taken and usually end up with some kind of interaction with them!! Don't forget a heartfelt thank you when you leave!!! :thumbsup2

LOL you should see my pictures(just click on the link below) !! All we do is characters lol, we hardly go on rides anymore. Go for it, everyone is a kid at Disney. :cool1: :cool1:

We have a child now, but we went the last two times just the two of us. (Mid- to late- twenties at the time.) We got pictures, with Mickey, Minnie, Pooh, Ary Poppins and others. My wife got a great picture with Spider-man at Universal. We also got a book-load of autographs. We also did a couple of buffets.

The characters aren't as likely to approach you as they do the kids, but they don't mind giving you autographs and taking pictures. The key is, don't be shy!!! Ask them! That's there job, whether the customer is 3 or 30. Half the fun of Disney is that everyone can be a kid again. I don't plan on leaving next month without at least one picture with Mickey.

I went with a friend of mine for her first Disney trip the year she turned 40. We had our pictures taken with every Character we saw!! What a great time!!

Don't feel silly at all about wanting your picture with the characters! I have two kids but I have many pictures of just myself with Mickey and Pooh and their friends! If it's a human character that is able to talk back to you tell them where you're from or why you're at Disney. Even Mickey got excited when we told him in July it was our 22nd wedding anniversary at Chef Mickey's. He kept coming by and blowing kisses at us and dancing right by us during the napkin waving song! When we ate at the Princess Storybook breakfast there was a couple I would say were probably around 50ish in years with no kids. My DD and I thought it was so cute to watch them. One would say "Oh, here comes Mary Poppins - let me get your picture" and the other would say "No, Hon - I went first last time - you go first this time." I thought to myself - that's going to be my husband and I someday! Don't be shy!!! Go down there and give Mickey a big hug!

The characters love adults!! DW and I went on a solo 10th anniversary trip in 2005 and we had a blast with the characters. We even were able to see The Evil Queen at the International Gateway. :thumbsup2

I love talking and joking around with the characters. NO matter how old I get I will hug them and have fun. Disney is for all ages. Go have fun!!

I was 22 years old on my last trip in 2005. I got pictures taken with some of the Disney Princesses, but they seemed to be rushing me through so they could photos with the young kids who were standing behind me.

I hope that it works out better next year and I hope that they were only rushing me through because of time issues.

Sincerely,

John "MoreorlessaDisneyfan" Kilduff

I had a great time w/the characters as well. My kids and I both enjoyed them. And I think adults are much more familiar with some of the older characters. I started singing King Louie's song from the Jungle Book to him and we ended up dancing together...my family just stood there shaking their heads, but we had a blast. Also when we met Goofy I told him how excited I was to see him and that he was my favorite. When my dh returned with the strolller rental Goofy pretended like we were running off together. Funny stuff. You're never too old. :goodvibes

We have a great time with the characters as well. On our last trip we stumbled upon a character luncheon and it was the most fun we had on the trip. Minnie ::MinnieMo flirted outrageously with my dad (who was 58 then), Chip n Dale goofed around with me, DH and DD so we where all cracking up, including my mother (who was 55 then). We have a picture of her with Chip and her face is so red from laughing - it was great! My sides were sore at the end of the meal from laughing so hard. We still chuckle when we see the pictures.

I can't wait for another character luncheon, this trip we are traveling with our DD15 and MIL/FIL, they are big kids as well, so should be a good time.

Enjoy and have a fantasmic time! :smickey:

My DBF and I are both 25, and we love getting our pics taken with the characters. We even waited in those really long lines in ToonTown just so that I could have my pic taken with Donald Duck. If people were looking at us weird, we didn't notice. Pictures with characters are always my favorite souvenirs from my trips! :goodvibes

Well said! Ditto what he said!

Hubby loves Pooh. (I married a big kid!) So on our trip this past January, we did the character breakfast at Crystal Palace. I even made t-shirts with a cute picture of Pooh cooking breakfast.

When he came by our table, he noticed hubby's shirt and he pointed and hugged himself and then posed for a picture with him. He was so cute!

They can be just as much fun for the adults as long as you approach them.
