My entire family is going to Disney the end of November/beginning of December. My Disney Neice (3) will be going to BBB. I'd like to go and get my hair done with her. I have 2 boys and never had an excuse to go before. My question is this: has any adult woman ever had her hair done at BBB? DH thinks I'm nuts - I'm 35 and I really want to do this. Thoughts?

From what I've heard as long as you call ahead and inform them that one person is an adult they are more than willing to give you the fairy godmother treatment :)

I have ressies for my 4 year old niece and my 19 year old daughter in September. The FGIT said they frequently have brides in there when they are having their wedding at Disney.

I just posted about a group of us 'big girls' going over spring break on the BBB Thread. It's SO much fun! We LOVED IT! Here's the link to the thread. I attached pictures from our experience.

If you go back a page on that thread you'll see more pics of all of us getting our hair and makeup done:)

My roommate is a FGIT. They love having adults come in and get their hair done. Don't worry... besides, everyone is a kid at WDW!

I think it's absolutely precious when adults get their hair done too. I've seen adult guys with the Cool Dude hairstyle matching their son's Cool Dude too, and it's so cute!

Thank you so much for everyone's thoughts. I'm going to do it! I made my decision. DH thinks I'm crazy, but I know that my DNiece and I are going to have a great time. I'm SO excited!!

southern_belle21 I did see your pics on the BBB link. Go Girls!! Thank you...that was just the "proof" that I needed DH to see! :rotfl: I also realized that the day we'll go to BBB is the night we'll be doing MVMCP! So...I'll get even more 'wear' out of my fancy do!!

Just don't get to close to Chip and Dale, they'll sweat it out:rotfl:

I would love to get my hair done, I ALWAYS wanted to be a Princess but am usually shot down for it, I'm going as Belle (my fave Princess - though I'm easily twice/three times her size) so I want a Princessy hairstyle to go with my dress. If I want it done for my first ever MNSSHP what is the best time to try and get a reservation for?

Okay, I apologize in advance if this upsets anybody, but being a hair stylist, I just have to say this.... have you seen the hairstyles, lol? They are not even flattering on little girls let alone adults. Sorry, I am a hair stylist so those "styles" really irk me. They slick, and I mean slick you hair back and make it super tight.

I really wish that they would have real hairstylist working in there who can give little girls real princess hair. The experience is super cute and I know I would love it if I was a little girl, but dang can they fix those hair styles, lol???

I think that you should go and experience it with her, but don't be surprised if your hair looks crazy.

And do brides really get their hair done there?? WOW, just wow, lol. The styles that come out of that place are not bridal at all, lol.

DITTO!! Also a hair stylist, and I think they look horrible. Also, painful.

I'm a FGIT there so I'd just like to defend the styles. I'm not offended, let me say that first. We make them super tight because we want them to stay in as long as possible. Some little girls want them to stay in til they get home so they can wear them to school. :rotfl: We're not going to have a little girl sit there for an hour while we curl her hair and put a million hair pins it to do a real "style". Many FGITs are licensed cosmetologists though. The styles are extremely simple and the girls love them. As far as brides, I haven't seen a bride there yet but I'm sure someone has done it for their wedding. The fairytale princess style is my favorite. There is no fake hair involved, it's a bun with a small tiara and pixie dust. That's what I would think would look at all bridal. I've seen flower girls get that one before. I don't think adults go for the hairstyles as much as they go for the experience of turning into a princess at Disney because it wasn't there for them as little girls. I've seen women cry because they felt so beautiful when they saw themselves. I'm not even kidding! :wizard: But in all seriousness, we're stylists in that it takes a lot of practice to get down those hairstyles, especially the slick ponytail aspect, and we take a lot of pride in our styles. Just throwing it out there. :flower3: And please, no one fire back at this and turn this thread into a 20 page long argument full of insults. It's not intended to start a big fight.

Real princess hairstyle would take much longer and therefore cost would go up. Moreover, who needs all the curling in Florida weather, it will be flat in no time. For junior prom I took my DD to salon, 2 hours of curling, pins, lots of spray and tears because it was painful. I payed $150 for that just to wash it off next day because it fell apart. Cannot imagine doing the same for a 4 yo.

LOL, thank God I am not the only one who thinks so. I am not trying to be mean, I just wish that they would do real hairstyles. There is no creativity or uniqueness to the hairstyles. I have done a ton of formal styles and they have lasted all night for my brides/prom girls....even for girls who have very fine straight hair. It's all in the technique and hair product.

And I am sorry, adults looks silly to me with a mini tiara on top of their head and a bun with it slicked back. Slick is so not even close to being in style. :scared1:

And BTW, there are styles that can be done without having to do curls by using a curling iron. Trust me!

not really, lol. I have done little flower girls who sit at the most for 20 mins. Also, if the pins are properly placed, there are no tears :). And BTW, cost is already up at BBB..you pay more for the experience..not like you are getting a fab hair style out of the deal. That's why I think it would be cute and more worth the money if they had more of a variety than slick hair and a bun, fake hair, and glitter, lol.
